The best lightgun, The Lost World Jurassic Park arcade.
I wish I could still play this one irl instead of emulator it was amazing to play akimbo. I still remember both Chameleon Carnotaurus and Deinosuchus boss themes and how the cabinet would tremble because of the audio level

Yes! ive been trying to get that one working with my Sinden light gun!
other dinosaur light gun games i can think of are Dino Stalker on Ps2 & Dino Strike on Wii
and also Yoshi's Safari (Yoshi is a dinosaur i think?)

I've seen a few people mention this game so I'm convinced to try it out sometime.

super quirky and fun rpg. feels like a saturday morning cartoon type anime, you know the one: yugioh, pokemon, digimon. fossil cleaning and battles are both super fun and interesting with great depths if you want to master them
I wanted to play this back in the day but never managed to get a copy. I'm happy that it's a good series and I'd love to try someday!

It's good! It's not some amazing hidden gem, but it's a decently fun game that not a lot of people have played. It's not bad by any means, and it's pretty challenging!

My votes definitely for Dino Crisis, great series. Even the third one is still enjoyable if you just turn your brain off and forget what 'quality' means.

It's always struck me as weird how there so very little modern dino games. Just seems like it would be an easy sell to make a AAA dino shooting game type thing. There's Exoprimal which I was immensely hyped for, then I found it was this hero shooter/multiplayer only payload pushing thing and my hype immediately died. Just take that mech concept and the dinos, and have a co-op brawler thing (and make it good) where you beat and shoot the hell out of dinos and I think it would just print money.

I honestly think Dino Crisis is the best Resident Evil on the Playstation/Dreamcast, dinosaurs are more fun than zombies and the voice acting is head and shoulders above it's sister series.

Exoprimal was suuuuuuch a *letdown*, I still tried it and it just baffles me. The co-op dino shooting is a blast - "Oh hey team, literally 1000 velociraptors are dropping from the sky in twenty seconds, just thought you should know" - but the mandatory PVP at the end of most game modes is abysmal.

Does Monster Hunter count? It would be cool to play as a monster in monster hunter
One of the earlier games had a curious mode where you could pit captured monsters against each other in a 2 player versus mode environment, if I remember right. A very cool feature, but they didn't keep going forward.

It's been awhile since I played either a classic RE or Dino Crisis. Maybe I will fix that...

But yeah it was a letdown. It confuses me why there aren't already other games like that with dinosaurs that aren't shitty abandoned steam games. Just give us some mech suits, customizable guns and mech abilities and stuff, co op and a shit ton of dinos and it will actually print money for you.

Its not a videogame, but...

The T-Rex demo tech on PlayStation 1 is one of the things that struck me the most
I love that model but never in life we can have that level of detail in an actual game without the framerate taking a dip.

Would be great if they brought that back. Would be fun online

It still hurts that Miyamoto was obsessed with the idea of turning it into a Star Fox game. At least even with the Star Fox reskin they could keep the rest of the game the same. But nope: they had to turn Krystal from a playable character into a damsel in distress and remove many great gameplay ideas of the original "to fit better at Star Fox universe". Usually I'm more than fine with damsel in distress characters but not at this case since Krystal was originally meant to be a fully playable character. While from business aspect it ended up more profitable because of the Star Fox brand but still I would prefer it as Dinosaur Planet. The only good thing with the Star Fox reskin is that they turned Krystal more sexy and iconic from design aspect.
I unironically prefer Krystal's design in Dinosaur Planet more than Star Fox Adventures.

As a cat instead of a Fox? Yeah.
She was not a Cat she was "Vixen" (aka a Fox).

But she definitely looked more like a cat than a fox.

Ok, this is really obscure and a shot in the dark, almost not a game, but it has dinosaurs and gameplay: 3-D Dinosaur Adventure.
This is a game I find haunting due to the sound design, but my nostalgia may be influencing how it affects me.

Telltale Jurassic park. Still have it on steam!
