Let's talk about our favorite four-color friends here!

I've been a fan of Captain America and Green Lantern for as long as I can remember. Found a copy of the 60s "Marvel Super-Heroes" serials on VHS that I rewatched constantly (and the voice actor who played Cap, Sandy Becker, is how I will forever hear him in my head). My mom (who was into comics along with me in the late 90's/early 00's) bought a bunch of DC's Millennium Editions, one of which was the first appearance of the Justice League. Though his introduction was brief, I really took a liking to Hal Jordan and loved the concept of making thoughts into reality. In my teens, I got deep into Steve Gerber's Howard The Duck and Judge Dredd, both speaking to my teen angst, general questioning of authority, and love of black and absurdist humor

Others of mine:
-Thor
-Plastic Man
-Killraven
-Shadowman
-Captain Marvel Jr
-The Phantom
-Tom Strong
-Color Kid
-Speedball
-Finn
-Gambit
-The Flash
-Nightcrawler
-Rai
-Bloodshot
-Spider Jerusalem
-Golden Age Sandman
-Doctor Fate
-Green Arrow
-Azrael
-Nightwing
-Red Hood
-Cassandra Cain Batgirl
-Catwoman
-Vance Astrovik
-Rom
-Requiem

Kraven the Hunter, though I'm basing it purely on Kraven's Last Hunt. I don't know what they did with the character after that, but given how that story went, it should have been nothing.

Groo the Wanderer
Snake-Eyes in GI Joe, pre-'he is a reincarnated clone of himself and now he talks'

Green Lantern (any of them but Guy. lol he sucks)
I've never understood the love Guy has on the internet and abroad. He's an arrogant douchebag with the mental capacity of a five year old. But yeah, love all the Earth Green Lanterns, even if Sector 2814 has way too many

I don't follow Spider-Man (though I did read the Ditko run after getting my childhood comic book collection back a few years ago and flipping through my copy of Spider-Man Essentials Volume 1 from Waldenbooks. Thought it was pretty good, but didn't like the direction it took after Ditko left), but Marvel is pretty terrible about not letting characters stay dead (I remember there being an issue of Champions recently with a Teenage version of Cyclops that was a newer version of Scott or something?). I do know that Kraven's children, particularly his son, took up the mantle in his honor

I like a lot of characters that originated in comics, but I haven't actually read too many of them. I've mostly seen movies/shows and played some games based on comic books.
If that still counts, then:
-Batman
-Spider-Man (Both Peter Parker & Miles Morales)
-Spider-Gwen
-Harley Quinn
-Starfire
-Raven
-The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
-Captain America
-The Guardians of the Galaxy
-Nightmare Rarity (A villain exclusive to the My Little Pony IDW comics)

And since they cancelled Angel on TV I jumped over to the comic book continuations from Joss Whedon and was very happy when he gave my two favorite Buffyverse characters their own book

It wasn't until Buffy that I realised continuing a show through comic books was kind of a thing

I think they've rebooted Buffy in the comics and are planning on doing it again. At this point Joss Whedon isn't really involved anymore. It seems he's sort of fallen out of favor in the public consciousness. He had a major website that used to follow all of his work that shut down years ago and various people have made various allegations about him since then. I think the last thing he did was an HBO show that got cancelled.

I never really thought about a show continuing as a comic book before Buffy either. I was such a huge fan back then that I needed more and I thankfully got it. I was a big fan of the older Power Rangers seasons too and heard that Boom Studios were doing some cool stories focusing on the original team so that's how I got into reading that. Like a lot of people I got really drawn into the story surrounding Lord Drakkon and the Ranger Slayer.

I also was hooked on Fables for a while, but I can't say that I had any particular favorite character. I was just invested in everyone's stories. I do remember Boy Blue and Frau Totenkinder being really cool though.

I've read various DC and Marvel comics over the years, but Batman has always stood out as my favorite superhero and I have always viewed Dick Grayson as his true successor. I'm definitely more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy.

I also read various Disney comics and Nintendo comics from Valiant when I was younger. It used to be easier to find comic books years ago. You could just walk into a drug store or grocery store and they'd be on a shelf with magazines.

I grew up a DC kid and really didn't start reading Marvel until I was older. I don't really favor either (or any one publisher for that matter), I just want a good story told well.

Funny, I also had some of the Valiant Nintendo comics. They were decent for what they were, but not as good as the comics Valiant would later churn out

And yeah, some of my first comics (some of which I still have) were from a Grocery store in the mid to late 90s. It's sad that comics aren't as widespread anymore, but you can blame companies going whole hog into the direct market and seeing far supposedly better returns for that one

Those Power Rangers comics have been on my to-read list for a long while! I very nearly started buying the omnibus collections back during lockdown.

It was similar with My Little Pony as well. The animated series finished with season 9, but the IDW comic book series was still being published. They branded the last couple of story arcs in the comics as a "season 10"

Yuri and Kei from Dirty Pair of course ::eggmanlaugh

Yes, officially sanctioned US-made Dirty Pair comic books are a thing.
