Kittens especially need to be paired unless you want to play a lot. I mean a lot. They will wake you up to play with them. You do not have kitten energy. Not even Superman has kitten energy.

I'm actually more of a dog person. I've never had a cat. But I would want one of those cats that doesn't shed everywhere (not the hairless ones, eww)

Sphynxes are one of those "but did you stop to ask if you should?" breeds like pugs. They aren't descended from one of those undercoatless breeds that enjoys contact with water, so they resist bathing. They need to be bathed because they don't have fur to wick the oil away from their skin and shed it. They're more vulnerable to sunburn and less-than-extreme temperatures than normal cats.
The mutation occurred in Canada. The breeder bred the first with its mother to test whether the cause was genetic, and the rest is history.
More of this breed should not be brought into existence.
