I dont have any one answer, my music tastes are varied and wide so I will go with a soundtrack:

View attachment 27187

the Melvins n Gravediggaz (2 of my fav bands/groups E V E R, period) tracks alone are enough to make this soundtrack officially-certifiably Crescent-Fresh. the metuLz-classic Cemetery Gates edit was cool but ofc it's missing Anselmo vocally dueling Dimebag's distorted magic wand (ofc Dimebag won, fueling Phil's immature jealousy of DD's legendary wizardry)

Ministry n Megadeth's contributions are unsurprisingly ace also but wasn't exactly a peak period for Sepultura IMO but overall this monumental track-gathering is enough to blow your bombas off n maybe even your feet with it

another legendary (I M O) soundtrack was from a beautifuLLy-casted horribLy-executed (againz - IMO MMO xD ) - Judgment Night. the rap/rock pairings worked out in a perhaps-dated in today's context but overaLL inspired n in a few spots I'd go as far as deem utterly brilliant... n I'm not sure something of this specific artistic scope could've/couLd ever be repeated again with even half as much success as this astounding perfect-storm n there are very few sdtrks I hold in higher regard.

I chose the Demon Night soundtrack from 3 that I was considering, Judgement Night was one of them and the Spawn soundtrack was the other. :)

all 3 of them kind of trancend the movies that make them happen.

In Flames - A Sense of Purpose
IN FLAMES MENTIONED ???RAHHH
Stellar taste! Jester Race is still in my rotation.
Holy shit, yes! Though I'm a sucker for Lunar Strain, though. Subterranean is also a killer EP.
It's hard to name just one album but this one's sure up there with my favorites.

Okay, now that's almost unfair. What a masterpiece, hope I get to see these guys in March, when they finally do, indeed, COME TO BRAZIL ?????????

Okay, drooling aside, this is my contribution to the thread:

1000008574.jpg

Alcest - Écailles de Lune (2010)

other ones I'd like to mention since I love music so much.

A Promise - Xiu Xiu
One of the most hesrtbreaking and emotional albums I've ever listened to. Xiu Xiu's sound pallette of these noisy synths match Jamie Stewart's voice performance so perfectly. It's an unforgettable experience.

The Glow Pt 2 - The Microphones
Phil Elverum's poerty-esque songwriting with the fantastic mixture of indie folk and slacker rock make an absolutely beautiful and warm album that just gets better with every listen.

No Now - Clarence Clarity
One of the most insane combinations of Glitch-Pop and Alternative R&B in what could be considered the first ever Hyperpop record, but Clarence does such an incredible job making these really catchy songs that can change up on you at any moments and blow your mind.

To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
It's literally TPAB. I don't need to say anything more.

Sinner Get Ready - Lingua Ignota
I'm not a particularly religous person, but Kristin Hayter's style of mixing these neo classical melodies with an avant-folk twist alongside the religious themes makes one incredible listen that will have you in awe.

Enola Gay - Asia Menor
Had to throw this one in to shoutout my fellow Chileans. Incredible Post-Punk with these noisy guitars and some of the best songwriting I've seen in recent years. I absolutely cannot get enough of this album.
Post automatically merged:

oh my god i remember listening to that Ghais Guevara EP when it first came out cause my brother had met the guy at some point. Crazy how far hes come

I never expected to see someone referencing that movie, let alone the soundtrack. It was a childhood favorite of mine. Billy Zane was the best part of the movie.

As for the topic, this is basically an impossible question for me. D: I sure as hell could never pick a single album and even multiple ones are tough. Bleh. Here are a few I couldn't do without at least.

Okay, that's more than a few and I spent a really long time making that. x) Ah well, I had a nice time going over my music library and hearing songs I haven't heard in ages. I tried to avoid "Greatest Hits" albums, but the three I listed were ones I grew up with and they fit together like an album for me because of that. I also avoided soundtracks because it would have taken me the rest of the year to whittle down if I did. I'm already second guessing my picks, so I'm going to mash "Post reply" before I fuck with it more. Dx

I am glad I am not the only Pitchshifter fan out there. :)
I may as well tack on a fourth choice: The Wax Trax Afterburn compilation

Alcest - Écailles de Lune (2010)
Gang gang gang gang

Everything I've heard from Alcest has blown me away.

This might be one of the best recorded live performances I've ever seen from a band, especially their song Sapphire. Up there with Lamb of God, Pathetic at Download 2007, Slayer at K! Festival 2004 and In Flames at Sticky Fingers

Great taste. Big fan of that Deadsy album as well, exactly my kind of grunge. Mansion Worlds reminds me alot of stuff like Spaceman from Babylon Zoo

The absolute goat, he will be missed. I was actually just about to send MMM, FOOD
