Dear friends, hang your enchanted blades and weary laser blasters here!~

For as long as I can remember, the two of these have been, in terms of all-encompassing media alone, my peanut-butter and chocolate.

I loved stuff in my younger days like Never-Ending Story and The Dark Crystal, but also Fifth Element and the original Star Wars. Books too (though I'm a pit picky about those). I really enjoy the output of Michael Moorcock, his Hawkmoon and Jerry Corneilus books are endlessly engrossing to me and I have fond memories reading some of the Young Jedi Knights series, as well as Harry Potter

I love sci-fi in most any form. Fantasy for me is a big hit and miss. I don't "get" what people see in LOTR. I do love Urban or modern Fantasy though. With the caveat that I love anything Brandon Sanderson writes. Don't know why, but I love his writing.

If you're a fan of sci-fi you should check out the book series The Bobiverse by Dennis E. Taylor. It's about this dude who gets put into cryo after he dies and gets revived in the future as an exploration drone.

I would love to see the LOTR movies, but I have a terribly short attention span. I'm writing something of an Urban Fantasy myself (The Black Bayou) as well as a Sci-Fi Sword & Sorcery story (The Mighty Mucaloids). Urban Fantasy I don't think I've ever really read a lot of unless you count maybe Harry Potter? But Black Bayou is such a microcosm of different elements (mainly influenced by Valiant's Shadowman and Marvel's Man-Thing) owing to the fact that I wanted to bring in all these other wildly different stories that I'd written over the years that were just laying around gathering dust and give them new life. It's certain kept the writing of it a bit interesting to be sure

Hell yeah, I've been trying to write a Sci-fi novel myself. Complete with space hookers, the mob and deranged lunatics haha.

Harry Potter would be more Modern Fantasy. The Dresden Files is a good example of Urban Fantasy and The White Wolf pen and paper games.

How's the writing going for Black Bayou that sounds really interesting. I'd be interested in checking it out when you've got some writing done.
