Fantasy consoles

Because more people will get to play those games?
A console having actual history gives it meaning to me. Many homebrew developers push these consoles to the limits, so we can see the full potential of these consoles.

We should definitely trade. Do you know I have a floppy with the Prince of Persia cracked by a guy that made the inter-level between 1-2 solvable? :D

What about the history of the game itself? The way I see things, it's not about the console, it's about the game. Or the player. I don't want to start a debate about right to publish to X or Y platform, but I am curious, as a player, where is the player positioned? By the console or by his own hands?

a red and white sign that says hold on it

What I mean when I say that "digital media vs Physical media" is term of ownership value of the item bought from the company supplying it. As of now "some" companies have or trying to push the boundaries of this. You bought a console to play, but have to pay a subscription in order to play online. If that isn't wrong then what is. Games used to be published Once and Only once. The insanity of having to have a game bought from the shelf, only to have it update onto your console and then play it, then realize that the game required some sort of a connection or not getting the whole game is the back-tracked point of owning a game. you have the CD, Play the game.

Fully agree on that. I shall not present a gif on that since I am that way.

Hi, what was I gonna say ?
My Apologizes, I got carried away with that rant.

To be fair, yes digital media has made its roots strong, in all sorts of media and entertainment. I wish to know your fair-share of view @EnthusiastGuy . Or anyone in this point.

You were going to pull my shoulder and offer an alternative view. Then you decided to actually assert that directly by inference, so you placed a smart chosen gif to make the point. Aside from that, I honestly don't know much, I was watching something else. :)

Forgive my early response. You either edited yours to offer this wealth of information or I was ignorant to observe it in the first place. As I am accustomed, I will accept the latter. Why not start from a fresh place. What shall we talk about?

The recent console news suggest that this is or has happened, to which this technically break the whole "Console Wars". Only a few console like Nintendo still hold onto their own style. Nothing further about this.

Can you please elaborate on this? I read your message twice and it fails to register. What do you mean?
And while we're at this, what does this has to do with the topic?

Just wanted to have a general chat. Though this reminded me of the old concepts that people used to make for Xbox and the PS.

PS6 Concept

Additionally, there's this PS1 Concept/Fantasy Console as well.

I think that is interesting in the least. Thank you for pushing this. It was clear from the beginning and the end did not dissapoint!
Let me know if anything.

That was weird. Not a lot of enthusiasm

I am curious what do you guys know and feel about these?

These are basically emulators to hardware that never existed.
But by my understanding, if they are emulators anyone can basically create one. I mean, a company takes the lead, creates a good case, attaches a screen, buttons, etc, flashes an OS that runs Pico-8 on top of it. There you go, you have the real console :)

Ya know, with someone who could 3D print the shell and a Raspberry Pi, you could 100% make that
