A bit of context: when Tetris is mentioned, most likely, it's either gonna be the official Game Boy or NES release that comes up first (especially the latter these days). Sometimes the unlicensed Tengen version comes up, but often hiding in the shadows is a third version, coming out exclusively on the Famicom and before both Tengen and Nintendo's versions hit the scene.
I don't see it being talked about very much, so I made something about it, taking a look at the game itself as well as its significance as the first home console port...and why it wasn't supposed to be a thing.

The game is not so bad considering the strange control scheme it originally had as it is that ⬇️ rotated the piece to the left and with A the piece falls and also that this game unintentionally introduced the Big Drop mechanic before the release of The New Tetris (1999, N64) which popularized it simply by pressing ⬆️ to drop a piece at once. Although Tetris (1989. MD) was also introduced by the Big Drop (Hard Drop) mechanic well.

I kinda like tetris versions out of curiosity as modern tetris and to extent Grandmaster 2 and 3 are my favorite versions of tetris. Modern can be nicely deep as are Grandmaster versions. BPS Tetris (Japan) is a funny one. It is very much samey between it's PC versions for MSX and PC80 from NEC as well as NES. History of it is funny and I assume it is very samey with the original Russian version, though only a guess since I have not given a curious try to the original myself.

Welp. Started nicely (230 views after 24 hours) only for it to never get a real chance to be discovered. Site didn't even try to give it impressions, and has been effectively lost since the 21st. An absolute bomb.

It's my first post here in a few weeks (inner turmoil has been ripping me apart), so I'll go ahead and mention that I'm working on another video. Completed the lines for it a couple days ago, and started on them for some ones I plan to do in the coming months. I'm just hoping algorithms don't hang me out to dry once I finish my next ones.
