Any love for this game?

I skipped playing it for many years because I encountered a lot of people complaining about it. But honestly, I'm loving it.

It's not that everyone likes the same thing, other people's opinions shouldn't discourage you from liking the game. I think Fallout 4 has its problems, but I also like it very much, I think Boston in this game has its own unique atmosphere. I really like the dense ruins of the city, tall buildings. railway lines. People say it's Bethesda's ugliest Fallout, but I think the art direction in this game is beautiful. And I've played all the fallouts since the first one.

I adore the art direction... the TV show looks very similar. It amazes me anyone would think it ugly.

I had a great time with this game even without mods. I was immersed and believe it or not, to an extent I was hooked on the plot.

I love fallout 4 more than the other games in the series and I grew up playing 1 and 2 and so on. But I never been big fan of 1 and 2 because well I never been big on isometric camera games.
Fallout 1 and 2 is not bad games but not my type.

But if I had to say best story it´s New vegas but when it comes to game play, and such then 4 is the most fun and the most mod friendly and stable. Also I think how they did power armor in 4 is better than the other games. Probably the reason I like Fallout 76 because it´s like more Fallout 4.

Expectations.

We have nowadays two camps of Fallout fans : The ones who wants the the world of Fallout more serious and dark in its tone
and the other fans who want more a lighthearted Fallout that has no solid lore which can changes and bent to be more fun.

Im out from Fallout since New Vegas which was cool to play but i wanted more a serious tone and more post-apolcalyptic dangers that hides its ugly face in the desert or in hidden facilities , ruins and high-tech dungeons . More exploration and roleplay with factions that offer me different ways to survive this harsh Wasteland .

At this point Fallout should have a competitor that offers that seriousness and depth of its world to give post-apo fans an alternative . I love the isometric perspective and approach that gives me more the TTRPG vibes and gameplay .

It always was down to expectations and old-time Fallout fans never learned to jump off fallout when its not their expected fallout overall . Thats how new franchises and games should come out to give what is lacking .

I hate it, it's barely a fallout game
It threw everything that made fallout a fallout game
Retron everything and treat player like a retard, but i guess it make sense since every character in this game is retarded

I recently started playing again. The game clock says 232 hours. 😅 I haven't beaten the game nor have I done all the missions or DLC. I spent a lot of time scavenging and building bases. I made an ammunition factory to horde 5.56 ammo early on when it was scarce.
I dislike a few aspects of the game that could be fixed.
Theft. Dead people have no belongings, unless it is a quest item which people would recognize. No one is going to say, "Hey stranger, that's Jim's cigarettes you stole" (Although this would be funny if they read this and included it in the game).
The synths warp inside of a base you built without ever being in it which poses a majority of problems like warping into a wall. It is just lazy on Bethesda's part.

Only tried it once because I really liked the TV series and I wanted to check out if I actually had missed out on anything.
Didn't hold my attention for more than a few hours, really. Didn't like scavenging for parts, didn't like maintaining the power armor and how it was like a vehicle, didn't like the atmosphere and the way the game never paused during dialogue stressed me out.
Also that screaming green tint they went with for the user interface is like the least readable barf-inducing menu color ever, I hate it.
