PS1 Experimental PSX games

I’ll have to check it out! Always looking for cool new PSX games!

NP, all the Digimon games on PSX have great visuals.

World is the best imo.

Digital Card Battle is a card battle game obviously (rented as a kid never beat)

Rumble Arena is a casual 3D fighter that is made for fans of the anime.

World 2 is a dungeon crawler (couldnt get far)

World 3 is more traditional JRPG with different battle mechanic (never got far in it)


Another fun game is Boombots, its got a claymation style and is a 3D battle arena game kinda like Powerstone. It is not as good as powerstone but interesting game with good visuals. Not really unique gameplay wise but visually not many games do what it does.

Rest my soul, I only know Boombots from an episode of Game Theory years ago that tried to use video games to predict the real world’s future. After hearing about it there, I kept the memory with me, never hearing about that game again until just now.


To share a funny memory, I remember being so afraid of that video when I first watched it. I was a kid at the time, should NOT have been watching it, believed every word to an extent, and watched it on the terrible 3DS version of YouTube. It was laggy and awful and I don’t miss it.

Haha. Yeah, I fact checked myself to see if my memory of the game was correct. Interesting note is that it is created by the creator of Earthworm Jim. Obviously not as acclaimed as his previous efforts but I had no idea they were made by the same person.

But it got its definitive edition on PS1 and Saturn
