I’m a huge fan of music, especially experimental music, but after listening to Everywhere At The End Of Time, I got lost in my own thoughts, ngl.
Basically, this album is a journey through memory loss. It attempts to capture the breakdown of the human mind in a sonic way. The concept is simple, yet interesting: the music begins with nostalgic sounds and slowly distorts, fragments, until, in the end, it feels like total mental disintegration.
The album is divided into six parts, each representing a different stage of dementia. It starts clear and calm, almost comforting, but gradually becomes more disjointed, repetitive, and confusing. The first part reminds me of old movie scores, I think of the '60s, but it changes by the time you reach the final part.
What’s most intriguing is that with each section you listen to, it feels more tiring and difficult to process, like your mind is dragging itself towards the end. It’s as if the first part is a nostalgic flashback of a life slowly fading away, and the final part is like being trapped in a loop of repetition and confusion.
As a NEET, I spend a lot of time alone with my own thoughts, and with my mind scattered in different places at once, I kind of understand what it's like to lose control over your own thoughts, as I often don’t have control over mine. Has anyone else listened to it? Well, it’s 4 AM, and I haven’t slept, so I’m kind of out of it, ngl. But this music is relaxing, btw.
