I remember when my friend got the toy version you play at home (the expensive one with the little robot turret that would try to tag you and whose commercial was on all the time) and thinking that it was the coolest thing ever, shouting junk like "WAR! DEATH! DESTRUCTION! YEEEEEAAAH!" each and every time we ran around the yard trying to tag each other out.

It was the wildest thing yet and I only lament that the novelty wore off as soon as his parents started resenting having to buy batteries with the absurd frequency with which we drained them... The true thorn of our AA-powered childhood.

Sadly, I never got to play the "real" thing, but I really did like my time with the toy as a weelad and I'd like to try it out sometime.

What about you?

Yes when I was around 14-16 years old we even had one in my city but they closed down years ago I think we may some ones in our capital maybe don´t know it´s like a thing that died in trend. As I never seen or herd about in the past 25 years. At least in my country.

Yes, as a kid for friend's birthdays we would occasionally play Laser Tag. Loved it, they still don't have anything quite like it nowadays with the dark hallways, gratuitous flashing lights, and harmless fun shooting your friends and family.

One time I got to play the "real" laser tag with realistic guns, military uniforms and sensors. The dude who was organizing that stuff drove us to some abandoned overgrown place with broken glass and syringes everywhere. It was a very hot summer day too and I don't know how I didn't pass out running around in that heat. It was okay I guess, but after playing paintball years later I personally much prefer the latter. It was better organized and there is something about physical projectiles flying around thats more appealing than just pretending to shoot with the laser.

I used to love Laser Tag when I was younger. We had a local mall growing up with a HUGE arcade/entertainment zone, with two big rooms of games, go-karts, an indoor skatepark, and laser tag. It was the big hangout spot back in highschool, and me and my friends would meet there every weekend. We'd mostly go to hang out and the mall and play fighting games at the arcade, but if enough of us were together we'd play laser tag too. It was always fun when we got a chance to.

Man, that triggered a memory I forgot existed. I was a kid, probably 13, and my family went to the fair together. They had this (at the time) bleeding edge laser tag game with a haptic feedback vest and everything. My brother and I played together on opposite teams, but he was only 8, so the worker joined his team. Man that was awesome.

I also think we may have gotten a really cheap plastic crappy set for Christmas that year. If I remember right the things barely worked if you were more than 3 feet away lol

Never as a kid. When my child, neice, and nephew were younger I bought a set of 6 of them at a discount store. Me, my sister, and brother in law and the kids got our money's worth out of them. Pretty fun time.

I've always envied you Americans for having laser tag. It wasn't really a thing here, at least not in the European countries I grew up in. Now you can find it in bigger cities, but now I'm middle aged and don't like to move a lot, so... :D

i remember playing laser tag once in the 90s
i was with a bunch of older kids and we got separated into a red and blue teams
but there was mix up and i got given a vest from the other team so my lights were glowing red not blue
once i realized this i started shooting my own team mates without them even knowing i was a traitor
and i ended up with the highest score by far at the end of it and everyone was like wtf
heheh :devilish:

I've never played it, I don't know, in Brazil.
