Now i know why in 90s spanish magazines they used to call sonic "espinete"

Espinete was a character from the Spanish version of the Sesame Street show from 1983 to 1988. Actually a girl into a pink hedgehog suit.

Could have something to do with watermelons (suika means watermelon in japanese). And mo is a particle which means "too". So: "Watermelons too"? Couldn't say for sure, my Japanese level is kind of shitty

Edit: on a second look, that last symbol doesn't look like a "mo". I'm not sure what it means, the image is to small and low res.

This the real deal Sonic here!!! I mean Sega stole from Espinete to create Sonic, damn thief bastards!!!! And this shit right here is Mario killer that Nintendo did anything not to release Espinete game on NES so they had to go for Sega but due to licensing issues they changed Espinete's name and color and released on Sega!!!! True story!! Believe me amigos, my uncle worked at Barrio Sésamo that the character Espinete is from!!!

A bit of trivia for all the people who don't know. The sprite is based on Espinete, the main character from a very popular Spanish children show from the 80s (Barrio Sésamo, the Spanish version of Jim Henson's Sesame Street).

For a Sonic the Hedgehog-style platformer, it's not bad, but it suffers from a lack of scrolling but it is screen by screen in the style of Pitfall and Montezuma's Revenge, but the aesthetics aren't bad for a The Mojon Twins game, mind you.
