Especially regretful purchases: What's the worst game you've ever played?

View attachment 33679This game basically cemented that Kazutaka Kodaka is one of the worst writers I've ever seen.
You could present me with $1 Million and I'd still never play this
Spawn on PS1
WWF In Your House on PS1
Mischief Makers on N64
Silhouette Mirage on PS1

All games I had hopes for in some ways but either didn't meet those hopes, or annoyed me in ways that I eventually traded them in or whatever.
The others I get, but what'd Mischief Makers do?

Just didn't click with me. I don't know if I thought it was going to be like a Gunstar Heroes on N64 or what, but I don't like the gameplay and I really dislike how it looks. In more recent years, I've learned that Treasure is just really hit and miss for me.

I love Treasure but I respect your opinion.

To be fair, I haven't played all of their releases. I really like Gunstar Heroes, Light Crusader, and the McDonald's Game. Bangai-O, too. But SM and MM, and Dynamite Heady? Not really for me, but I can see why people like them. The only one I'd say is outright bad that I've played is that Tiny Toons game on GBA, but I don't even know if that was actually released or cancelled and just dumped in later years. It doesn't even feel like one of their games, at least compared to the stuff I have played of theirs.

I bought No Man's Sky on pre-order around 3 hours before it went on sale back in 2016, it was so bad it put me off the space sim genre altogether.

Wayne's World for NES. It was 40 or 50 bucks when I was a little kid, maybe 6 or 7? Why the hell did I buy it and spend several months of saved up allowance on it? I must have seen and enjoyed Wayne's World by then, even though most of the jokes would have went over my head. "I'll take the Cream of Sumyungai!" It was a bad platformer and also short, the worst thing a game can be for a kid with limited money and unlimited time to fill playing games.

Thanks to several updates No Man's Sky has become a much better game.

Not the worst game I've ever played but a game I regret buying the most is Zelda Skyward Sword.

i'd have to say super mario maker for the 3ds, paid full price 60€, the game was fine but it lacked a ton of the features that were later added to super mario maker 2, a real shame.
Sucked how you couldn't share any levels in any real capacity, and it was released right at the end of the 3DS lifespan IIRC
