Emulation on Smartphones

So I wanted to put this out to everyone, what are your experiences with emulation on your smartphones,
Great.
what kind of games do you typically play, what systems do you emulate and perhaps even any additional devices you use in conjunction? (like a controller)
Everything up to psvita and 2d switch games. I don't have an adreno chipset in my phone so i'm a bit limited on switch games. I usually use an 8bitdo sn30 controller with it.

I only have PS1 and Gran Turismo 2 on mi phone, but i feel like thats more than enough, its a big game tho and its not hard to play considering i can use the D-pad (arrows) for steering the cars.

I most commonly play while im at school, it doesnt use that much battery and its more fun to play than any other racing game on the mobile store. Crazy thing that happened today, i was racing my 170hp and 900kg Fiat Punto at the third race of the FF Challenge, at the last straight i barely managed to overtake the leader car and left a 0.001s gap!!!!! sadly later on the results the game awarded me 2nd place and i dont know why, still it felt very epic to cross first place by such a small gap.

Honestly, I'd highly recommend playing Gran Turismo on PSP as well through PPSSPP, while it lacks the series staple career mode (although GT7 lacks a proper GT mode as well, so i digress) it is still great fun and has a shocking amount of content for a PSP game.

Surprise surprise, i did already played the PSP version of GT, yes it was fun, but it starts to feel a bit repetitive after a while, even after modding it i still dont feel the same spark as before

Understandable honestly.

I still find it incredible that it was until 2024 that Apple allowed for DELTA EMULATOR to exist in the store.

It would not have been possible without the fight of Europe, which is very advanced when it comes to Consumer Rights.

I used to have to sideload an app the allows to download the Delta Emulator, and I ended up having to maintain 3 apps and licences, and download hacks to a Windows PC (I have Linux) and Itunes.. IT WAS A MESS!

Android is far superior in that regard.
Lemuroid works great in my ChromeCast with GoogleTV HD paired to my 8Bitdo Arcade Stick to play Arcade SHMUPs and PCEngine games.

On my Android phone I am a firm believer in all the xxx.EMU emulators (PCE.emu, NES.emu, MD.emu, etc...) their consistent features and layouts are pretty sober and straight forward, you learn one you learn them all, and they also have some modest yet good CRT filters.
Not to mention that Apple doesn’t allow the use of JIT compiler on it’s apps

Man, I forgot about that.
Which is the reason why there will never be 3DS, GameCube, Wii, or Switch emulation, or maybe until the processors are able to brute force the emulation in 10 years.

Specifically on my phone (pixel 8 pro, which I specifically wanted for emulation purposes and to have ds screens relatively similar in size to real hardware) I've mostly used melonds, psspp and nethersx2, played the hell out of p3p and .hack//mutation, and fiddled with various ds games. Wario ware touched translates pretty well to an emu on mobile phones, i think, so does the ds version of chrono trigger, since you were able to do most everything from the touch screen on the real hardware. lately, though, I have yearned for an pocketable emulation handheld, as convenient as it is to have it all on my phone. I tire of it.

I mostly have emulated RPGs and some 2D platformers, games that don't really need THAT many inputs, but that's been quite a long time ago since I mostly carry my PSP or 3DS to this day lol.
Mad respects to a lot of people on the latiné community of Monster Hunter because I've seen people beat the entirety of Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd using a phone, not even using a gamepad.

Mostly RPGs, and mostly turn based ones. I usually emulate PSX and PSP, and ocasionally genesis or snes.
One action game that I didn`t expect to play well on my phone, but it really did, was Rengoku.

I played years ago on my 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy 3 mini, some Sega MegaDrive games with MD.emu, Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star IV, Monster World IV, Sonic, and others.
Also really enjoyed Drill Dozer (with vibration), Wario Land 4 on My Boy! emulator.
Played Metal Slug games with NEO.emu
Also used My Old Boy!, Drastic, NES.emu, SNES9x Ex+, Retroarch.
