I do not know if scoring from 1 to 10 is a good methodology for ranking votes versus something else but the ones that took up on my (example) strawpoll got this type of results thus far:

Yeah I feel like the list could be larger, maybe even 20 games.
I think I could manage these strawpolls for OP, if it would be ok, and most people do not mind using strawpoll. Try to use lenient rules that lightly enforce gentleman's rule to vote only once.

Why stop there? Why not make the list 30, or 40, or 64, or 86.4, or 9, or 12 1/2, or 15, or 106 or...

You get the idea. It's 10 for a reason. It's not meant to include everyone's favourite game, it's meant to narrow down the top 10 out of god knows how many games for every system, the BEST of the BEST. We've so far done the NES and SNES, with having just concluded the N64 as of this post. We're going to move onto the original Gameboy family next time, with small Virtual Boy Subsection for funsies.

I can't find Zelda: Majora's Mask on the list.

I get this a lot on these lists when someone doesn't see the game they want. The only solution was that you should've participated. I actually explained this in the original Poll thread. Majora's Mask was nominated, but it was eclipsed by Ocarina of Time by a wide margin. It DID earn enough votes to make it to the Top 10, but since OOT was already up there, I folded Majora into it so there would only be 1 Zelda nomination so as not to clutter the list with multiple of the same franchise.

Paper Mario is a massive exception, given the radical departure in gameplay from not only a traditional Mario game, but also traditional RPG, that it really sets itself apart. I like Majora's Mask as well, but the people spoke and they wanted Ocarina.

This entire project was started when me, @PupinDaTurd and @Ognimod were joking around about a bunch of Top games lists from magazines like Club Nintendo and Nintendo Power, which would have, like, 5 or 6 of the same franchise on the list (the Game Boy lists were especially egregious, and essentially included EVERY Pokemon game on both the GBC and GBA like that was in any fair to every other series out there). So I had the idea to make a poll for everyone on the RGT forums to decide what the best games on every system were.

I don't pick these games at random, these aren't my choices. In fact, the N64 was the first time none of my nominations were picked or even voted for (On NES I picked Little Samson, on SNES I picked Demon's Crest, and N64 I picked Space Station Silicon Valley).

We start with a nomination thread, similar to the Nostalgia Society, and of the 10 games are picked fromt the most popular choices from that thread.

No, thank you. I also don't require Strawpoll either, because the Poll system on RGT already allows me to enforce 1 vote per customer, and I only need 10 slots for the vote. I have to reiterate, there are not my choices, these are the results of a preliminary nomination thread, where the most popular suggestions were placed into the top 10. This poll is just to rank them from 1-10 for an image article I'm constructing like so:

Outside of a brief leave of absence from the site a couple months ago, I've been managing the lists just fine. @Nebulon_Galaxy even drew me titty art for it.

What I really need is exposure and participation. However, if you are familiar/comfortable with Parsec, I am DESPERATE for some assistance in another project I want to get going.

Oh, I was a little confused. I read the point totals as votes, and though you were getting 100s of votes, but it's only the 6 of you (so far).

I only posted it as a status update on my profile, and not either of these threads, but this was the end result of the poll I ended up with thanks to both the actual Poll thread and here. The final Paper Mario votes is of course from me, as a tie breaker between it and Conker (because it would just create another one if had voted for Mischief Makers or Kirby).

yeah, I posted this as example of weighted poll, to combat what nebby saw as a problem which happens in these cases.
It was just result of giving top pick 10 points. As far as I saw, it was not a feature to do that in the forum poll, just had to vote your favorite and maybe go through the forums for the analysis.
