Elemental Gimmick Gear UNDUB patched by swosho Publication date 2024-09-26 A small and simple undub – the game has only 3 FMVs with voice acting & 48 voice clips. JP voice clips were split where needed to match the trailing English lines properly; FMV subtitles are slightly out of sync with the narration. It's a surprise that Vatical and Birthday went from making games for the NES and game boy color to this one.
I don't know if anyone else is involved, but it's a huge leap from making 8- to 16-bit 2D games to this one.

It's a shame this game was released on the Dreamcast, the cover art doesn't help either.
Sometimes I wonder how these covers pass the approval process.

Well of course that's going to be up to personal taste. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think it's a very underrated Gem. It was released in an era where appreciation for 2D artwork had really dropped off the map. It was all hand drawn beautifully and I thought the Cinematic scenes were great. The Boss Battles are 3D however which makes for a fun variation in the game. The music was good and very well suited to the game. The story is a bit sparse but well enough written and an interesting Sci-Fi Fantasy twist well worth the play through. Game mechanics are simple but the enemies and puzzles become increasingly challenging. The puzzles are generally much less challenging than enemies. I'd say if you're an avid gamer you will probably find it below mediocre for challenge but if you're a part-timer casual like myself it does get a bit challenging. I personally would give it 8 out of 10, but I have a great appreciation for games like this.
