These Brand Newman translations are really rough. Not much better than stumbling through with Google Lens on your phone, or some other OCR translation software. Solid hacker, but I really wish they'd collaborated with someone who actually has a handle on Japanese and English.

At first I was getting a really messed up translation, but I went into Dolphin options > configuration > graphics > hacks, and then moved the texture cache accuracy slider to the middle. It fixed the entire thing for me. No more nonsense text. The author of the patch actually recommends moving the slider all the way to the left so feel free to try that as well. This should probably be noted in the game description here. The translation is a garbled mess otherwise.
