I have no idea what happened between you and Spike before but I know Spike has a modded Wii U and I doubt he minds having a version that is compatible with real hardware, unless the creators of the translation have an issue I'm sure he wouldn't mind, but I will check with him when he's around, he's probably just busy rn, honestly if I had access I would have edited this page already but since I'm limited to only edit my own entries I can't do much about it, but regardless I wanna thank you for the tip 👍

Cool cool, as long we're all cool. Merry Christmas. :)

I chatted with Spike via email ages back, and he said the patch creators do not want a modified version of the game with patch being hosted, only the broken patched game that does not work on real hardware is allowed on here. Assuming I understood Spike correctly. Anyway, I asked Spike a while back, he said no, and I respected that.

So I then came on the forum to explain how people can fix it themselves.

Spike, if you're reading this, please don't get mad. I was not pushing for it to be included. I just thought since you're not allowed to host the fixed version I'd give people the instructions needed so they can patch and fix it themselves.

Like, I don't want Spike to chat with you, and think to himself: I already explained to that guy and now he's pushing Juiceala to upload it.

Maybe I'm overthinking things.

Everybody just be cool.

Just a heads up, I took your advice yesterday (it just so happens I already have GCIT and I'm quite experienced in it, used it to hack and inject GC games all the time back in the day) so I went ahead and did what you suggested, tested the decompressed iso on my Wii U via Nintendont and can confirm that this indeed works, thank you, I already uploaded to the repo but I'm waiting for Spike to add the file to the public.

I don't especially want anyone to do anything - I have a working copy and was just sharing knowledge. :)

I don't even own a Wii, just a GC.

After patching the JP game and using GCIT to resave that ISO in full (after patching), without compression, my CRC32 was this:
2454CE91

Size: 1.35 GB (1,459,978,240 bytes)

Size on disk: 1.29 GB (1,390,411,776 bytes)

If you can't replicate it or get that to work, I can try sending it to you via WeTransfer? Though it can be kinda buggy these days. I find it crashes a lot when I try uploading anything over 500mb. So I'd prefer not to mess about with it, but if you *need* it, then I will help. :)

I guess PM an email address?

---

The entire problem is because Swiss checks every ISO against a database of game checksum, so if something does not match the checksum it refuses to even try to boot it. Which is dumb as hell. Because that sort of functioning does not factor in translation patches, cheat hacks, or any other kind of user modification. It simply screams: this is 1 byte different to what's written down, I REFUSE TO EVEN TRY LOADING IT!

Rebuilding the ISO to maximum size using GCIT appears to fix or remedy this checksum problem.

The other reason this is dumb is because it forces you to fill your SD card with crap data just because Swiss is a slave to the checksum list.

I have a Wii and a Wii U and can test it on both Nintendont and even Dios Mios if you really want me to, I'm a little busy these few days though but I find this very interesting and would like it if you can share your fixed ISO so I can test it on real hardware later and then I can add it to the repo, thanks.

Use this program:
gcit_Win32_Build7

After patching the game use GCIT to open that ISO, and then select "SAVE ISO" and choose "FULL SIZED"

It will then resave it at the following size: 1.35 GB (1,459,978,240 bytes)

ET VOILA! Swiss is no longer a whiny crying bitch and will load the game!

Do NOT use NKit.

Alternatively you can take the pre-patched version and use GCIT to rebuild the ISO so it works properly.

If you use the smaller sized ISO with Swiss, it will shit it pants and refuse to run it, even though it's perfectly functional.

Bloody Swiss programmers were idiots.

Try expanding the ISO using GCIT? I dunno, I don't have a Wii, but that fixed it for my GC.

Doesn't work on console with GCLoader running Swiss. Says Bad dump try repairing with NKit. But then when repairing with Nkit, it matchfails at the end.

Ive only got one problem with this game. Why exactly is he hanging onto the feet of the dragon? Is he high or am I high? I think id rather play panzer dragoon.

You know what I decided after watching the video that I'm going to try this anyway. I got to see some later levels in the video and it looked pretty good.

I can test it on Wii and WiiU later, I did notice the previous version was uncompressed while this new version is compressed, just a theory but maybe the compression is causing compatibility issues.

A while ago I had a similar issue with a PSP game where the English patch forced a compression that broke compatibility on some emulators but still worked on real hardware, I unpacked the ISO and restored the dummied file and fixed it, recently it was added here to the repo too

As a fan of both of Treasure & Dragon Drive, I wanna give this one a shot.

Looking into the readme, the instructions say to apply the patch to just the one disk, but doesn't say if the game requires both disks to play. I will download both the English and the anime discs just in case.
You only need one iso to play, the English iso.
We include the japanese versions for preservation and to use in future patch updates.

Does the English translation just need the one .iso? The Japanese is split into two discs, and I wonder if the anime disc is needed for the English version.

very facinating that this is the game what i heard was one point supposted be related within sin and punishment universe, not sure was a spin off or a sequel (way before the wii was made). despite the combine card aspect of the game and obvious atempt copying panzer dragoon (im pretty sure treasure tryed their best) plus based an anime that just made for one year or so for season then its gone like that.

too bad this series didnt catch on to make a sequel or something like that it could had gotten potential see other dragons in strange cgi graphics. probaly it was for the best for doing just one off. but we are talking about also a game developer being involved making a game based of that then they made later on sin and punishment 2.

Sorry guys, I had to delete the game.
Maybe if we can get to an understanding it could be reuploaded until then it remains like this..

EDIT: The patch wasn't ready for release. When a bug is fixed it will be re-uploaded with the proper credits and all. Until then exercise patience. I'm sorry again.

EDIT 2: Proper version released! Have fun.
