Sorry that I misunderstood you earlier and I totally get what you mean, I too have been trying to learn more Japanese by watching anime and playing video games, after all, this is how I learned EnglishAh, that's not what I meant precisely; I meant for people who can only read Hiragana and Katakana, it seems like a good option to use for studying japanese. The font is pretty clear, and the language in one of the dialogue boxes I could understand easily once I read them out loud.
I have been forcing myself to learn how to read, because while I can speak japanese pretty fluently, I never learned how to read other then basic Kanji enabling myself to get around when I was living over there. So I'm actually looking for games like this right now so I can slowly add in more speed and comprehension as time goes on.![]()
I also agree that spoken Japanese is much easier for me to understand than trying to read Kanji, not that I understand Japanese at all sadly, but I get the feeling when I understand a couple of sentiences without needing subtitles, good luck with your goal
Awesome, I'll make sure to check them out~I haven't played for long (slowly making my way through more Doraemon games), but regarding the screenshots I shared I noticed the shots I picked here mostly show character names and simple Katakana and Hiragana but it doesn't necessarily mean the game in general is friendly for non-Japanese speakers, I mean idk tbh, I'm yet to get to play it.
That's said, if you are looking for a fun Doraemon themed board game/minigame collection I recommend either the Wii game "Doraemon Wii - Himitsu Douguou Ketteisen" or the Game Gear game "Doraemon: Wakuwaku Pocket Paradise" (this one took my by surprise, it's quite good and very English friendly save for two mini games) I quite enjoyed these two games (mostly the later) and I can recommend them for a Doraemon fan who would like a mini game collection.

I don't see any kanji at all out of the screenshots.
I didn't play for long but I didn't encounter any mini games, it could still have mini games, idk, I'll play more sometime later but for now it seems more like Fortune Street/Monopoly than Mario Party. This is like a board game but with a top-down perspective and it looks a bit like Mario Party because of its perspective and thus because it is multiplayer.
