Honestly, it's the only reason I wish I had a switch 2.

I love donkey kong and the idea of a fully fledged 3d game that is actually good and, unlike the N64 game, not somehow worse than the two games rare did right beforehand, has been a long time coming. I know that the 64 game has it's fans, but that is considered the worst of those 3d collect-a-tons on the N64. It's by the odyssey team and anything they touch is gold.

Bananza just looks so fun.

I never knew that Donkey Kong 64 was hated that much I haven't play any Donkey Kong games except the first two arcade games they are ony list.

I Did watch the playthrough is look good it reminds of that Hulk game on ps2.

I love that game to death and I think it's peak DK.

I don't disagree with its game design criticism though.

DK64 isn't exactly hated...it just has WAAAAY too many collectables and tends to go a bit long. And the 3D design is a bit of a mess.

As for Bananza, I'm not interested. I can't put my finger on just why, though. It just looks and gives off the vibes of every other generic 3D Nintendo game out there. Fun in short bursts? Probably. But as someone who played through half of Odyssey before shelving it out of boredom...it's just meh to me.

And yes, I own a Switch Pro. Dumbest impulse buy of my life - hopefully Metroid Prime 4 comes out on a normal cart and not one of those insipid "game key cards" anti-consumer trash wastes of plastic.

I've been enjoying my time with this more than I did Odyssey. While I liked Odyssey, it didn't crack my top 5 Mario games, whereas Bananza would definitely crack my top 5, perhaps even top 3, Donkey Kong games.

Also the soundtrack is so freaking good.
