So for a while there was the project of making a coloring for the Gameboy remake (and somewhat sequel) of the original Donkey Kong arcade game that expanded the game way beyond expectations (not only we had all 4 levels from the original, pie factory included, but 9 worlds full of levels and each having a unique gimmick as well) as a farewell to classic DK while DK Country changed the formula and gave the ape a new design.

I cannot wait when it'll come out.

Their hardwork will be appreciated, huge respect to them
I was a big fan of that one Game Boy game, it was so polished

Of course! This isn't a small task with this game.

Same, I can't believe how complete and fun it was for a simple handheld game.

I also love how elements in Mario 64 were taken from both this game and Yoshi's Island (namely the triple jump and the back flip for one and the winged cap theme in the other).

That's right! Also the handstand thing was so satisfying to pull off

They added techniques that made sense with the game design.

Easy to learn yet hard to master (and you can still finish the game without the need to do all of them).

I also liked the small cinematics between half levels where they showed you the current gimmick of the game and techniques that Mario could pull off to tell the player what you can do.

Those cutscenes are awesome! The presentation in this game is so great

No wonder it's one of the best Gameboy games

Adding color to Gameboy games has been a great highlight in Rom Hacking. All 3 Super Mario Land games (inlcuding Wario Land). The Mega Man games finally getting their due. Kirby's Dreamland 1 and 2. Can't wait for Donkey Kong!

It's legit how I got into romhacking in general. It gives a new life to these games.

The only colour hack I'm not fan of is Wario Land because it "looks weird" compared to the brighter Mario Land 1&2.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX is literally one of the most waited DX romhack next to Donkey Kong. Kirby's Dream Land 1 deserved these colours since the franchise is popular for its whimsical environments (more than Mario imo).

I am fine with Super Gameboy colouring but it doesn't replace a true colour replacement.

My wishlist of GB games getting the colour treatment is simple: Kid Icarus of myths and monsters and Trax in priority.
