Doing Normal Things... (Dragon Ball)

Demonstrating my free will by mapping out my personal view on DB continuity. (not including Heroes or Xenoverse)

is what I consider "Prime Canon", including non Toriyama stuff that I think fits in.
is current Super continuity.
is whatever the hell Daima is.(I let it merge into Super but it prolly shouldn't)
is Movies/GT because there was empty space.
is DB Online since Toriyama did a lot of work on it, and it's a good glimpse into what he envisioned for the future of the world pre-super.

I forgot to put in Neko Majin, and your preferred version of Hatchiyack can probably fit into the GT timeline. 90% of this is vibes based so it doesn't really matter :P.
Dr.Slump can probably fit in if you want it hard enough and you ignore all the damage Arale has done to the planet. I also think Battle of Gods the movie can fit into "Prime Canon" without much issue with the manga/anime version of events being where Super splits off.

I always kind of went with that Super takes place in the "main" continuity but before the epilogue, though I suppose there's room for interpretation there. I particularly agree with your "vibes based" take since Dragonball is just silly fun at the end of the day lol

(In my heart of hearts suppose I'm sort of a manga purist but these kinds of puzzles are fun.)

I think this makes sense. Even if it somehow didn't, it could be explained away by DB's style of time travel.

Didn't the whole Bardock movie got retconned after Broly and Granola arcs in Super?

Also Super is going towards the end of Z ending with Uub and the last world tournament we saw in the anime, so for all we know and with Goten and Trunks being teenagers already there is probably only 2-3 years left in terms of time for Super.

where do the 3 Dragon Ball movies fit into this timeline?

I thought abt putting them with the Z films but since those movies are kinda amalgam retelling/remix's of different arcs I would probably put them in a Separate timeline, maybe in a 3rd Dr.Slump timeline since arale shows up in the 3rd one.

Thx^^, I'm mostly a manga purist too lol, this came abt when I realized Wrath of the Dragon is one of the only movies that can actually happen. I think the end of the manga's also just straight up non-canon to Super now post Super Hero but I'm not 100%, I don't think Toriyama really gaf especially judging by Daima lmao.

Where ever the Toriko crossover goes lol. In my head those stories all happen on a Marvel Battle World style planet.

What little we saw of Bardock in the manga was based off the special so I still view it as canon to the og Prime Continuity, but in the Super continuity anything shown in Minus/Super supercedes it.

Also Super is going towards the end of Z ending with Uub and the last world tournament we saw in the anime, so for all we know and with Goten and Trunks being teenagers already there is probably only 2-3 years left in terms of time for Super.

Personally I don't really see it as canon to Super anymore esspecially imagining it as post Black Frieza. Bulmas lines and appearence also kinda make it impossible imo.

Dragon Ball Minus retconned the Bardock special, but a scene from the original manga shows flashbacks from said special. Both written by Toriyama, so whatever you want to consider more cannon is up to preference at this point. Though if we're talking about Super Minus has to take precedence, because that's what the Broly movie adapted.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just retcon the end of Z chapter, they already kind of have. Sure it's a 10 year gap, but at the beginning of the chapter Bulma says she hasn't seen Goku in like 5 years and I'm pretty sure Super's already surpassed that.
