Hey Guys! What are other Dogfight Games that are not the usual suspects such as Ace Combat, HAWX, and Project Wingman? I play Mostly PC Games as well as Emulate some Consoles like PS1, PS2, PSP.

Please recommend me some! Are there games like those with unique gameplay mechanics and themes??? Excited to discover some new games! Peace! ::bigboss

The IL-2 Sturmovik series is pretty good, get IL-2 Sturmovik:1946 on Steam, its a very good game with a lot of content and planes, i wouldn't recommend Battle for Stalingrad solely because their DLC policy is disgusting.

And, if you don't mind space ships, then Freespace 2 is really good, if you get knossos for managing mods, you will have a lot of content to enjoy.

I have played a few Space Dogfights too! like Strike Suit Zero and Subdivision Infinity. Thanks!

I strongly recommend Dogfight: 80 Years Of Aerial Warfare.

It's old, but it allows you to play every major conflict of the 20th century, from both sides.
Nice! I'll look it up! sounds like quite the comprehensive game.

Robotech: Battlecry
I like Macross amd Anime in general! I remember playing the JP only Macross VF-X games on the PS1 as a kid. I wonder if those ever got patched in english.

Macross VF-X for the PSX and SDF Macross for the PS2

Air brake by transforming (some might include Another Century's Episode 2 and 3:the Final as well, but I digress: it's too slow to dogfight; it's more like Armored Core on air...)

For handhelds, Freedom Wings for the DS: basically solo WW2 fighter flying around and getting attacked by air bandits, land on airfields pronto if you want to escape...

Can't exactly say how the game I'll suggest compares to the ones you've already played, as I haven't played many plane games myself (been thinking of one day tackling the Ace Combat series though).
But I guess I could describe it as like AC, but more arcadey?

I had fun playing it whenever I felt like doing some flying and listening to this, heh:

I was remiss in not mentioning this:

updates are slow, but there's plenty of mission customizability to be had here. I wager you could set up dogfights to your heart's content.

You mentioned Ace Combat already but did you know there is an Ace Combat for the Wii?
Well... More or less.

It's called The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces. It's Based on an anime war movie called "The Sky Crawlers" and you use pusher
airplanes in a WW2-similar setting.

It's developed by Project Aces, the same team from Ace Combat, so the DNA is there, complete with a good brefing screen (made up of a bunch of physical maps scribbled together to point out the enemy), a good amount of planes and an good-feel arcadey vibes to it.

Does X-Wing and/or TIE Fighter count?

I remember Crimson Skies being kinda cool on original Xbox but I don't know if it ever got ported anywhere else, nor if it was purely dogfights.
It's on PC as well ?❗

I have it, but never got around to installing it.

I had the best time as a kid playing Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005). The space battle scenarios were so expansive feeling with multiple ships to choose from. And before that I enjoyed Battlefield 1942. I personally find it very exciting to be a person on foot who pilots an aircraft, rather than just being the aircraft itself. That said, I've always wanted to try an Ace Combat.

Airfix Dogfighter is pretty cool if you like flying around a house with an RC plane shooting other RC planes and such, like a battleship in a bathtub.

You might like Project Sylpheed on Xbox 360. Very colorful Macross inspired game.

"Airforce Delta" is Konami's take on Ace Combat.
