Does anyone else besides me still go to GameFAQs? I mostly use it to learn about games and keep an ear to the ground for new releases. I used to be semi-active on the boards but not so much any more. And of course I also use it to search up more games to download for my emulators.

From time to time I will use it for it's intended purpose as the FAQs and guides the site has are still quite useful. I know I could just watch a video on what to do but sometimes I like using a text reference so it doesn't interrupt the gameplay flow as much.

I also like how you can also see games listed by franchise, when they were released, and for what platforms. This is how I like to look up games for my emulators because then I can just go down the list and get all the games in the franchise. I recently went through all of the Gundam games using this method.

Anyway, do you still pay GameFAQs a visit once in a while? Because I think you should.

Hi pal, i use Game FAQs since 2010, always looking for a complete list in alphabetical order and with all images from the CD Covers from all the games launched from the consoles starting on 16/32/128 bits and HD generations consoles. (and looking too on some funny reviews)
Since the start of XBOX X/S and PS5 generations i have stopped.

I still go there for guides when trying to get past certain points in retro games. I'm currently using one for Mother 3, for example. I hope that site never goes away!

Yes, more recently I've been active in the 3DO community. Singed up in 2006 and published a few reviews back then. Besides casually looking up guides and cheats, these days on a few forums like Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighters XV, Classic Gaming, Sega Saturn, TurboGrafx-16, Shmups, and Fighters.

Like the others, guides and stuff. But honestly, I just love reading the old forums there. Seeing them all struggling to find a solution until that one guy save the day is so wholesome

I even used it for grabbing others save files that they've given. For example, for the Ghosts N Goblins game here

I do. My GameFAQs name is the same as this one. I like it for guides and cheats because of the simple no-frills interface. I just need the simple text.

I've contributed a lot of screenshots for games that didn't have them. If I played some weird or obscure game and it didn't have screens I would take a few and submit in case anyone else was interested. I should get back into doing it because I will try basically anything just to see what it's about.

It's a gold mine for guides, especially for older and obscure titles. On that note, is there any archive of those guides available in case the site ever goes down for good?
From time to time, I am always trying to preserve some guides for some of my favorite games and researchment's sake...
And always trying, because always something happens, saying goodbye to every computer I had in life ;_;

There's some Internet Archive backups, but who knows how long that'll be safe.

On topic, I adored GameFAQs when I was younger, it's still the first thing I check for any older game I'm playing. (Never used the forums or anything though.)

Yeah.
A lot of the guides have been there for YEARS and are really good!
I avoid the comments like the plague, though. lol
