Yep, I used to watch some episodes in the early 2000's on Cartoon Network.

As a kid, most of my exposure with Tom and Jerry was with reprints of the old U.S. Dell comics in my country which sold for cheap since they skipped the color from the original. The comics differ from the cartoons in which instead of focusing on slapstick humor, Jerry and Tuffy instead plan elaborate schemes on Tom and vice versa for some banal goal as well as utilizing humorous dialogue. I didn't get to watch an actual Tom and Jerry cartoon until later and when I did, it actually felt...off...

Saying "does anyone remember Tom & Jerry" is weird to me though.
Its like asking "does anyone remember Loony Tunes?"
Like, does anyone NOT?

But then I realize those kind of cartoons aren't as ubiquitous as they used to be.
I suppose some younger kids havent seen them much. Cartoons like Tom & Jerry, Loony Tunes, Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, etc were on TV all the time when I was a kid. Now Saturday morning cartoons isnt even a thing. Fuck I just talked myself into feeling old haha.

I used to watch the original cartoons as as kid and loved them. I wish it had never been remade as the new versions completely miss the point of the original cartoons.

tom and jerry were the best of the bunch. they didnt treat the viewer like an idiot, none of the main cast were mean spirited or evil, and they took what the characters were doing seriously.
