I haven't thought of it for along time but when toriyama passed away and everyone was reminiscing over dragon ball I had a feeling of something missing I didn't watch a lot of dragon ball but the nostalgic felling just didn't go away and then remembered blue dragon I was glued to the tv when it was on but I didn't get the story because the episodes where random but I really enjoyed it
RIP toriyama

I have only played the games and they are underrated as hell. I liked a lot that you create a character in Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow. But for me, the best it's the first one on xbox 360 altough I hate downloading that game because of the 12gb size 😅

I watched the anime as a kid. Played the actual game somewhat recently. It’s a decent FF-clone.

I'm still pretty sad about it, it happened on 1st March too, he was 68. It felt like it was a bit soon since even Bird Studio says he was still enthusiastic to make so much more, but I guess that can be a sign of something else

Sorry for rambling about other things, I still just can't believe that he was gone. He really made a huge impact for Anime as a whole, I keep thinking about what the future of Dragon Ball would be without him. Blue Dragon was good too though, it has 2 seasons with 51 episodes (it has some flaws but it's not that bad)

But just like Akira Toriyama said

I agree with everything here but in case you got confused, OP was asking a 360 rpg named blue dragon. Akira did art for it, but it’s a final fantasy style rpg that’s unrelated to dragon ball. Hope that clears it up.

Yeah I saw that, no worries
Haven't played it yet though, is it fun?

Still a bit confusing though because he only know the show

im another one who hasnt watched the show yet, but i spent like 50 hrs + trying to get 100% achievements on the original Blue Dragon on xbox 360.. its very under rated, and was extremely good for an early xbox 360 old school jrpg... i have the 2 DS ones in my backlog but havent gotten to them yet.. is the show worth bingeing if youve only played the original game? does it just follow the games or expand on them or what?... oh well, its a cool series either way..

I don't really know I just watched the anime and never knew there was a game for it maybe ask the games forums for that (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

Blue Dragon yeah, that was a decent JRPG on the xbox 360.
Dragonball Z was my gateway into anime, like a lot of Americans my age.
He also did the artwork for Chrono Trigger, as I'm sure most of you know.
R.I.P.

There's so many interesting rpg from that era with no pc release Blue Dragon is one of those, along with the Last Story, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, wish those had pc releases and I've played some of the Awakaned Shadow, it's alright I remember it being better than what I think of it now

Blue Dragon is one of those 360 games that I would LOVE to see ported to a newer system (along with Lost Odyssey, made by the same studio, and Magna Carta II). I go back to play it every now and then just because how silly fun the game is. One of these days I'm going to have to just sit down and play its sequels...

I remember playing it for a few hours and stopping cuz the battles were to slow. I got a lot more patient since then, maybe it's time to give it another try:)

Yes. Saw it on the XBox. I remember being extremely underwhelmed by it. Outside of DBZ, Trigger, and the DQ series, AT's designs have mostly been a miss for me. I wanted that cool, badass look, but often times you got that kid, extremely bland/boring designs.

A lot of this rings true in regards to BD. The game had arguably nothing going against it (Microsoft backing, AT art, Sakaguchi directing it and Uematsu composing it) yet it was artistically lacking in my humble opinion. might be a a case study on how a game having all the right people can still come out feeling a bit underwhelming.

The games were good (not stellar by any means), but the anime (at least dubbed) was absolutely atrocious: souless, anemic deliveries made the dub work one of the saddest things I've ever had to listen to.

Maybe they were about 5-6 years too late. Would of made a solid Dreamcast, Cube, or PS2 game. But a 7th Generation release, they missed the train/bus/plane/chocobo.
