I gotta be honest... I'm *extremely* surprised that this is still a thing because it always looked like SUCH a mid-aughts thing that it just seemed impossible for it to have survived that decade, yet here we are.

I don't know much about the game itself, other than what my deskmate would report back to me daily all throughout freshman and sophomore year while he was a true junkie for the stuff. He was deeply, deeply annoying about it and didn't seem to get even the slightest hint about it even as I'd roll my eyes hard enough to watch the interior of my own skull while he kept yapping on and on about planetary raids and his dreamed Death Star.

It was kind of amusing just how much of his life was devoted to that one game.

But I gotta admit that that also made me extremely curious about it and I did end up giving it a try... For about a weekend, after which I couldn't make heads nor tails of the whole thing and ended leaving my planet to rot, much to that guy's sheer horror XD

I'm not here to mock the game, though, just my experience with it... And I wanna hear yours, too!

Has the game evolved much since its 2002 launch? Does it have a good community? It obviously has SOMETHING to it if it's still going strong after twenty three years in this corporate, plug-pulling landscape.

Some nerdy space game and I've never heard about it? What the hell!

Back in the middle ages, when people didn't have internet on their super-computer-phones, a friend who was into this game called me on the phone, to see if I was home and able to log into his account at a specific time, to move a couple of his ships which were expected to arrive at some spaceport. They needed to be sent elsewhere quickly or risk being bombed ::sailor-embarrassed

So yeah, he gave me his login details and I moved his ships out of the way. That was some demanding game ::badpc

OGame is still a thing? I used to play circa 2004 but I quit early on when I realized that it was P2W past a certain point.

"Ogame" sounds like you're talking about how good your O Face is.

Wait, you played this?

-1000 Respect.

I honestly don't even know how this could be turned into a P2W formula, but I guess that explains why it's still a thing.
