Do you use DVDs nowadays?

I Know right?
Sometimes new isn't better. tho i don't have a CRT Sadly. not since the old Goldstar i had, deiced to just Nope out and die. got my First hd tv after that
I still mainly use my trusty Element 1080p flat panel as my main monitor. It's a great general use TV 10ish years later. Video inputs out the ass, actual buttons on the side, and no laggy ass smart OS I don't need. My CRT is more of a companion device for retro content or as a second monitor, as it can be a bit too blurry for the way modern games and software render text.

I giveaway to my mom almost my entire DVD/BD of movies collection. I don't have enough space in my new house, so, I preffer to kept with my, my videogame collection (games and consoles).

Honestly i would love to, i miss them sm. Sometimes I feel that when everything is more technologically advanced than it already is, it gives me a bad feeling :(

Lucky. When my last TV died I couldn't find any "Dumb" ones so I bite the bullet and got a "Smart" Samsung one that was on sale.

You could probably just buy used on eBay. That's how I got like a third of my electronics. It's not as risky as you would think.

I had a DVD/Blu-ray player on my PC for quite awhile, but I eventually replaced it with another hard drive. I actually missed it at first, but now I don't really even think about it. If I ever wanted to go back to my small collection, I could just use my PS3 or something. My boyfriend has been using quite a lot of CD/DVDs as of late, he's on a vintage computers kick and CD/DVDs are your only real option for installing operating systems on older machines.

Toshiba Satellite P500, 2009 Multimedia machine, comes with DVD. was watching some nostalgic season 1-3 spongebob after tearing if they still work nowadays. Who knows if I put in a Wii game on DVD and it actually picks up from Dolphin?

many DVDs had so much more life pumped into them than the average blu-ray. Stylized menus, extra features, etc etc etc. with the right set-up, SD can still be viewed with it's intended specs. watching a DVD on a ps2 thru an old tv is timeless man. cue: Tank! by the Seatbelts

I mainly use my laptop. I can use my PS3 since I don't have a dedicated DVD player. But most of my DVDs were stolen. So I have little to choose from. I think I still have 12 Monkeys, some Tenchi In Tokyo and some .hack/SIGN. There's a box set for Family Guy season 3. There might be some other stuff.

I would use DVDs more if I had more DVDs.

I have a pretty small collection. A few Blu-Rays, mostly favorite movies like Scott Pilgrim, Hot Fuzz, Memento, Drive, Beerfest. More DVDs, either random stuff that was cheap, or things I was given, like the first 5 seasons of Scrubs. The only thing I really went out of my way to get was the first 6 seasons of Angry Video Game Nerd, everything there was at the time. They've saved me during numerous moves when I was waiting for internet service to be activated. I don't watch many shows, but I do like having the option to just throw something in my PS3 and quickly be watching something without ads or nonsense.

yes, i still collect dvd on occasion. i have lots of blurays and 4k blurays, but sometimes i like to buy 90s and early 2000s movies on used dvd. i like to keep a dvd player hooked up to a crt as well. it all kinda goes with the classic gaming vibe.

I'll be the Criterion guy here if no one else already has. I also love Vinegar Syndrome, and really any b-movies on blu-ray. When I was little, I remember being so ensnared by my parents' DVD collection. This library of their souls; everything from Aqua Teen seasons 1 & 2 to The Honeymooners, a personal reflection of their tastes. I prefer Blu-ray, but will gladly settle for DVD if it's the only way to own something I love.
That said, I roll my eyes at the "REJECT STREAMING RETURN TO PHYSICAL" people, because Netflix is convenient and I'm not collecting DVDs as a moral stance. It's just fun! I have the Star Wars Holiday Special on the same shelf as Le Samourai!!
