Do you use DVDs nowadays?

Does BluRay count? I got a couple of cheap ones from a local pawn shop recently and watched them on my PS4. I got Sahara and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.

I Buy physical DVD's, watch them? no.
I Rip them and use my own Files on my Media PC

I had to watch Grave of the Fireflies on DVD on my PS4 cuz they don't have it on HBO Max with the other Ghibli stuff due to distribution rights or something. I could count the pixels going across the screen. Really sucks, too, cuz I have like four big books worth of DVDs.

I use them to fill a box in my closet at my dad's house. Never had anything against the format, I just don't watch a lot of stuff nowadays. Still, like Zerpina said, it's fun to go looking for cool stuff for cheap.

I burn anime to DVDs as backups. You can fit A LOT of anime on those things if you only intend to play them on devices supporting MPEG-4.
I Just store my 4 TB anime drives, and a Backup of those and a Backup of a Backup <everything i have, i have Triple backup of> Since SSD's are cheap anymore. its not that bad

Mine is a Samsung HD CRT with a DVI input. I can just run my computer to it via an HDMI to DVI cable with no additional image processing needed. I just have to correct some overscan fuckery in Nvidia settings. Absolutely gorgeous for retro emulation and old anime. Can you believe some rich people just threw this out!?

I use optical media rather frequently, mostly for games, but DVDs make up a good chunk of my collection of non-video game media. I have a soft spot for (and a small collection of) anime DVDs from the early to mid 2000s, especially those from defunct labels like A.D. Vision and Geneon. They have such fun presentation to them and many of them are still pretty cheap on the second hand market.
