I think Mattel Should Stop Making Barbie Animated Movies, since it's too much and nobody plays with Dolls Anymore since Many Kids Are becoming IPad Addicts + Most of these Movies are Forgettable

I have neighbor kids who still play with dolls and such. A couple of them I keep over from time to time, they're sisters, they sometimes bring their dolls over... they'll even steal mine. I collect Hello Kitty, Monster High and stuff like that. As for Barbie, I haven't seen much about that lately. Most the stuff I watch with them is whatever I can find kid friendly online, mostly on youtube or tubi. I know one of them loves Shimmer and Shine.

Now that I think about it, I haven't heard any of the kids I know mention Barbie.

Probably because they are insanely expensive and don't hold a monopoly anymore.

When my sister was a little girl, mom and dad would spend lots of money getting her those toys, because they were the only ones of their kind around — nowadays, most kids play with any number of others (of various qualities, sure, but same fun factor).

Sounds about right. We live in a country type area and the biggest store we have around here is Walmart.

Yes. And don’t even get me started on the live action one.

I think sometime after Barbie 2001: A Mattel Odyssey they lost the plot and never really found it again.

Wait Barbie have animated MOVIES!? ::omgdoom
Dozens, the nutcracker one and the three musketeers ones were the only ones I really liked, there's also the sci-fi one where Barbie becomes space Jesus.

It doesn't really matter if they stop now or keep going.....

As mentioned above, kids are more into digital toys now than physical ones, video games, iPads/phones, laptops, etc. Most kids outside the 3-5 age range wouldn't even give a doll the time of day anymore, they are glued to tablets or iPads.

The Barbie franchise making movies, probably to be honest makes more money from movie sales than the dolls at this point. The last time I saw a Barbie doll in store was at Walmart five years ago... might have been three, I hardly go to that horror show of a store. Anyway, I think those dolls still go for 20-25 bucks.

What parent in their right mind is going to spend that much for a lump of plastic? Okay, most would because screaming kids suck, but the point is most parents will zombify their kids in store with the aforementioned digital devices.

Hell, even as a kid myself, I didn't play with Barbie dolls (We didn't have money to spare on junk like that aside i didn't like girl stuff anyhow). I was too busy being a brat on a bicycle when most kids were playing with dolls and G.I. Joes and the like.
