Do you remember the first time you had to move a 500 lb object?

I had to do that in Pikmin 2

I'm just about 100% sure my case would be helping my dad get his car out of heavy snow on the parking lot. Not a very fun experience, especially when ice is involved and you can't really put your back into it without slipping and smashing your face against the car's trunk.

Something that heavy, it would probably have been my first job in food sanitation years ago. Some of the equipment we had to move to thoroughly clean/sanitize were very heavy.

Yeah. Pushing a broken-down car half a mile uphill to get it out of traffic. After that hell my lung capacity quadrupled for a full week.

I don't know if I could lift something that heavy. I like to think I'm pretty strong. I can hoist up fully grown adult men and walk around with them on my shoulders, but yeah something that heavy is probably large and cumbersome, so I'd try tipping and rotating it to move it along.

Probably the heaviest thing I've ever lifted and carried in my hands is a small-ish washing machine.

I'm assuming you don't mean alone? Lol. I've moved a few decently sized pianos with buddies and that shit sucks!

The first time? No. I've gotten pretty good at it now though. It's surprising how easily you can move very heavy shit just by pivoting it. I watched a guy single handedly move a fully loaded seacan a few months ago with just a couple of jacks and some 6x6 posts by pivoting it on the jacks.

For me it was a barrel filled with precursor it was so difficult for me then. I am glad I am stronger now.
I picked up a differential before. Lucky i had my lifting belt cause my upper back and legs were shaking from that alone. I also picked up 32inch CRT's without help all the time. 32" CRT's weigh around 75-80 KG

Yeah I wish the barrel had wheels, but in a way it is a wheel I had to shift it to its rim, but I didn't have to lift it from the ground. I don't have to push as much force these days the most is probably a pallet with a crowbar here and there. Once you understand it it is incredible what mankind can move with little tools.

Barrels can be kind of annoying to move even when you can get them up on the rim. You can sometimes walk them from side to side. Usually tipping it and walking it is decent way to move something heavy. Yeah, luckily I don't really have to move heavy stuff by hand at my current job. We're actually encouraged not to move anything heavy by hand if we don't have to and to use machines whenever we can.
