The year is 2012, G4 is still a thing, your weekend is entirely free and then a bold proclamation echoes through your living room "the Top 100 Video Games of All Time."
Ranking the greatest video games of all time is, for all intents and purposes, an impossible task. It's far too subjective and generationally restrictive, practically guaranteeing divided opinions. That said, G4 attempted such a task; sparking intellectual debates, validating personal favorites, and including plenty of celebrities that a young me knew nothing about.
Every year I make it a ritual to rewatch this piece of history, and as the years go on I realize that the special's entire existence is basically held together by 2 YouTube channels (one uploaded it in 5 parts and the other uploaded it in one 5 hour video) and a few web articles recounting G4's rankings. As an adult I now recognize most of the famous cameos, and have a huge sense of appreciation for the sheer effort that goes into picking 100 games and ordering them from 1 - 100.
Anywho, enough of my yapping. If you haven't seen it before I would highly recommend you do so, it's a sort of visual time capsule into what everyone thought would be the peak in gaming before things like 4k UHD, VR, etc.
