Do you play one game at a time, or multiple at once?

Do you tend to play one game and focus on playing that game to completion (whatever that means to you) before playing any other game, or do you play multiple games at once, picking which one to play each time you sit down to play?

I find I can only really focus on one game at a time, but it sucks because I also really like variety.

What do you do/think?

I play multiple games, sometimes with large breaks between them. If I forced myself to go through everything, I'd hate games as a whole. Period. No matter how good something is, I almost always need a break at some point or I'll end up hating it. I start feeling a little physically sick, at some point or another. Exception is if it's super short, like some UFO 50 games, or Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk.

It depends. If it's a long game like an rpg or something I'll start a few at once then pick the one I like the best to keep playing until I finish it or get bored of it. Otherwise I'll just play whatever I happen to feel like playing at the time.

Depends what age/generation you are/have.
I my teenage time I have only few games on PSX, then only one game focus was to finished Final Fantsy VII in about few week, daily 10+ hrs.
Nowaydays I have 100000+ history of games, mostly is "diskjockey" preview/testing/compare random games or watching for last gen super gfx PC games on latest PC jardware.

Normally I'll just play one game at a time, but if I get bored or burned out I'll switch to another one and give it a rest. That's what I just did with Y: Like a Dragon, became a bit burned after 40+ hours and went on to beat King's Field 4 and Lament of Innocence back to back. I still don't feel like going back so I'll play something else. Just to clarify, I love Yakuza games and this one's no exception, but perhaps I got tired sooner because of the switch to turn based and the game being much more massive than most of the rest

Same here! If it's something more arcade like a racing or fighting game, I might jump between them. But if it's an RPG, I need to finish one before I can start a new one. I think it’s because I don’t like mixing up stories or gameplay and ending up confused ::nervous-prinny

Usually I have about 2-3 games that I play around the same time. 1 of them is a faster paced game with a focus on combat in some way. The second is usually a slower paced game, like a JRPG.

The third game if I have one is normally a fighting game of some kind, to play in short bursts. This also could be a game that I am replaying. It's there if I'm looking to play something that I'm already familiar with.

1 focus and planning-intensive game (like RPGs and such) interspersed with a few action (mech-combat, shooting, simulator and racing) games while on job or gaming breaks

Sometimes, you just want to take a break from thinking and just play on instinct (while shooting everyone and everything up); I sure did

I play around 2-4 games at a time because I tend to get burnt out playing only one game for too long.

It takes a while for me to get into a game, so I have to stick to one at a time normally otherwise it breaks the "spell" and I can't get into the new game or get back into the old one if I leave it aside too long. I've been gaming a lot less lately but in general if I really start a game (just trying it for an hour or less doesn't count) I finish it.

I actually started playing Edgeworth Investigations in the middle of my Justice for All playthrough. Which made hearing Edgeworth's theme "again" at JFA chapter 4 a really memorable moment.

Depends, i sometimes have games marked as high priority, so i focus on them as much as possible.

But, i usually play a few, switching depending on my mood. And, find some time to do the Limbus dailies and weekly hard MD.

it really depends on the game: usually i like to just put all my game sessions towards one game so i can stay immersed in a story, but long games ill pace out more, non-story games ill usually have a phase where i play i lot but then might take a break for a while, and games that frustrate me i might take a break for a few months before i come back

i play multiple games
1 or 2 long games to really go into the deepth of the game and 3 or 4 short games like platforms or fighting when i need a break

I play multiple games, but usually I cycle between story driven complex games to playing session games (stuff like fighting games and fps i can play forever)

I typically switch between 2-4 games, based on what device I'm playing on at the time. I'll have something on my Switch when I'm playing that, something I play on my computer, something I play on my phone, and something I play on my retro handheld. And I just cycle through them depending on my circumstances.

I play multiple, but if there is one that interests me the most, be it gameplay or learning-wise, I would focus on completing it first, so that I won't forget what was I doing or all mechanics/strats that I've developed in my brain

i start games faster than i can finish them so most games that i play i unfortunately abandon unless they're very short and not too hard. this has in fact happened to cave story so many times that on my last playthrough the magic was lost and i didn't feel any fun while playing.

I kind of have 'slots' for games.
Like I have one Main Slot where it's the game I play the most. Previously I was playing a WoW Classic private server and once I got to late endgame I considered it enough and switched to something else and finished it this week. Now I'm looking for something to fill that Slot.

Then there's one or two Side Slots where I might be playing simpler games less seriously. Games where it's easier to pick up and put down after doing a level or two or a dungeon. Something like Pokemon or Musou.
Recently I've got a Wife Slot. We played through Dokapon Kingdom over the course of a few months, and now I'm looking at a few more Couch Co-Op RPGs we could play before bed.
