well how to ask this.

when you go eat a pizza, do you need the restaurant to have cooks that are italians or italian origins ?

when you want to try an african food, does it bother you if it is made by pure caucasian people ?

or you absolutely don't care as long as the food is good ?

do you feel that it changes the experience ?

I never would have thought about this. I probably wont think about this now that I know about this either. I cant care, too in-depth, i just care if it taste good and quantity worth the money

If the recipe is followed it doesn't matter who cooks it, gonna taste the same regardless.

I don't care who is preparing my food but if it's a person who originates from the same country as the food, I'll probably expect them to know how to prepare it well

Food racialized?

If it tastes good and it's not contaminated, it's perfectly fine with me.

Furthermore, another culture might improve the original dish and make something unique.

Tempura was said to be created by Japanese chefs from a dish meant to be eaten during Lent by visiting Portuguese Jesuits and sailors.

Philippine Adobo is different from Spanish and Mexican adobo.

Same with curry, we have the original Indian curry but also Japanese, Thai and SE Asian curries that have their own distinctive flavors.

In short, a lot of delicious dishes were created from intercultural interpretation and if we policed everything so that no one can create another country's dish, there would be a lot of potential food discoveries lost.

Food is food I don´t give a damn who makes it as long as it taste good and not shit. If I want authentic food well I would probably go to that country to have it.

I mean even if they would have a Japanese chef here in Sweden he could never make the Ramen or Sushi taste like the Japnese country part becuse it would cost a fortune to import the same ingredient.

I mean there is a reason in Sweden we have "fake curry powder it´s cheaper than making real curry spice and 90% of us have 0 clue what even goes in it.

I just want good food don´t give a crap who makes it.

If the food is on the House I call every cook my friend regardless of Race/Gender remake or original enjoyer.

To answer the question I ate Pizza on my vacation in Spain so no what matters is if is a competent cook or not and how affordable it is.

Eemmm no
I really don't care about who is the chef or who cool, I only care the food!!!

Nah, I don't care who makes the food especially because there's nothing stopping people who aren't from a culture from making some bombass dishes from that culture.

Although I will say what definitely gives me pause is when people who aren't from a culture take a dish from that culture, do their own take on it, and then start referring to it as an 'improved' version of the dish. That kinda bothers me because you're not part of the culture, nothing wrong with adopting a dish and making modifications to it to appeal to your own tastes or, if you got a restaurant, the tastes of your customers, but saying that your version of a cultural dish from a culture different than your own is 'improved' over the authentic versions? Yeah nah, I think that's iffy at best to say that.

If that were the norm, the pizza industry wouldn't even exist.

Good food doesn't need a genealogy report. Some folks invent rules just for the high of enforcing them.

Food becomes racist now lol

but seriously experiencing sometimes how other folks do ya food can be great experience with their own little touch also regardless of Race Planet of origin or what not if ya can cook..respect and I appreciate cooks that don't overcharge.

This is the most retarded thing I've read in months.
Anyone can cook, anyone can learn to season food with the flavors of a culture without being part of that culture.

It's certainly fun to go to a restraunt run by people with deep ties to the culture the food comes from and with an atmosphere inspired by that culture. Kind of makes me feel like I'm taking a mini-vacation abroad. That said, it's by no means necessary for me to eat somewhere. Good food is good food, and sharing techniques and recipies across cultures and peoples is a beautiful thing.

Absolutely. I need my food to be as racially pure as the chef who's making it

I bring DNA testing strips to every restaurant I visit so that I can be absolutely sure that white blood does not taint my Indian cuisine. The chefs aren't always willing to provide samples so a little deception may be necessary but any extra work is worth it to ensure my food remains racially homogenous

There seem to be a lot of strong reactions here. :loldog

i was asking this myself as i saw a lot of older folk talk about it. " Hey are they japanese here ? they seem chinese for a japanese joint " and things like that. i always found it weird and was wondering if this was maybe a norm on other countries.

Not really. Most Italian restaurants I go to are Italian owned but most of their employees aren't Italian and the food's good.

interesting. i THINK as long as they're honest about it, and not claiming that it is a food item from their own culture i don't really care

a lot of people are cooking food from my ethnicity and claiming it as their own. i don't like that much
