It's been over 10 years since Hotline Miami 2 came out, what do you think of these games?

Only in video games because I love to beat that crap with my punches on Double Dragon

I could go either way on the actual gameplay, but the soundtrack in the first one is just too good. I own the second one but I've never played it.

Second one is criticized for the larger level design, but overall I think it's pretty neat. Soundtrack is absolutely better than the first, tho.

Are we talking about hotline miami or about hurting people? ::huhsonic

Oh okay, I havent actually played hotline Miami although OST is great

When I play videogames, I'm almost never imagining myself as the main character but rather controlling the character in the story. So the actions never feel like its representing myself as a person, but more so that I'm making decisions of the main character in the story.

So for example, when I play the Double Dragon games, I'm not picturing myself as Bimmy or Jimmy but I am acting on behalf of them.

There are a few exceptions, like if I design a character that resembles me, like in Skyrim or Fallout for example, then I likely will play the character through my own principles.

Some of the best soundtracks in all of gaming.

The first game was stellar and ended just about exactly when I wanted it to - still wish Biker's segment had been fleshed out a bit more though. Also very fun to play for score and A+ rank.

The second game went on too long, Beard's levels were kinda bullshit and most of the characters were kind of obnoxious, especially considering they talked way too much for my liking. Still very much worth playing for the soundtrack. Awful to play for score and S rank.

Haven't played the games, just by looking at the covers I imagine a top down shooter about gangs of college mascots.
In the case of gaming, gratuitous violence( Think something like mass murder in a GTA ) i find it unappealing to say the least( not that I'm Unguilty of Burning people or slowly killing them of starvation ). I prefer my violence to "make sense", like killing someone for survival, revenge, self defense, etc, understandable motives, in other words.

Im more of a retro city rampage kind of simpleton

Is it really that good?

If you get a good flow going, it's really satisfying. But it's also pretty punishing, at least for my skill level. There's a lot of trial and error involved the first time through, but it's a blast overall.

First one was really good 10/10 from me
Second one was alright but the music wasn't as good 8/10

I've only played the first game. Beat it years ago but didn't get the true ending or whatever. Excellent soundtrack, the gameplay is fast, fluid and visceral but I do think the music does a lot of heavy lifting in enhancing the mood. I have the second game on PS4, though I want to go back through the first game again first. They are both crying out for air suffocated under the weight of the rest of my backlog at the moment.
