Do you have nice one-shot stories to recommend?

By one-shot I mean usually one (or two) volume mangas that aren't meant to be long stories with several arcs but a single one with a clear goal.

I first think of Toriyama's Sand Land which is a self contained story but there are many others as well. I can accept "two-in-one" volumes as well.

Great topic. I wish there were even more suggestions on here as I'm always looking for one shot manga. There doesn't seem to be many.

One of the best Batman's manga! Kia Asamiya was really good. Here's a couple of one-shots that i suggest:
- Chronowar (Denmu Jikuu) by Kasumasa Takayama
- Zashiki Onna (Hauntress) by Minetaro Mochizuki
- Fear (Kyofu) by Kazuo Umezz, translated by the Slug-Chicks Fansub
- 2001 Nights Chapter Seven: Lucifer Rising, by Yukinobu Hoshino
