My PC is getting up there in age, I got it around early 2020 right before COVID lockdowns, my thought was to future proof for a time. Since I maintain it and clean it regularly, it works the same as the day I got it.

I don't see a reason to upgrade, new games are trash, and most demanding games are just that, superficial style with no substance. New indie games aren't demanding, unless they are UE slop I won't play anyway.
I'm about the same with my Acer Nitro 5 laptop from 2019 (Intel i5 7500, 8gbs of Ram, and Nvida GeForce GTX 1050). There's thankfully still a decent amount of indies that support my config. I'd like to upgrade the ram to 16gbs at some point, but with the ram shortage, it probably isn't gonna happen anytime soon

I have a Switch 2, which was a gift for Christmas/my birthday this year. I don't own any other current gen consoles. It'd be nice to own a PS5, but I have other priorities. Even in terms of gaming, I want a SteamDeck and Ayn Thor long before a PS5.

I neither have a Current Gen PC nor a current Gen Console and the reason regarding why I have no new console is because I don't want one they are overpriced junk.
And the reason why I still have my old PC is because I can't afford a new one

it certainly hurts in regards of a good new PC but its very much a none Issue regarding modern dust collectors I mean consoles.

nope
i have an i5 laptop 8GB RAM, so not enough to play many of the latest era eating resources titles :)

i have added a slim PS4 finally, bought one month ago due the cheap prices of games and hw; well, at least i can play something inbetween

Can confirm! Glad I had a pair of good headphones. :ROFLMAO:

I was going to sell my og PS4, but my Pro might croak after some time and need to get repaired as it seems in the process of lifting off when I play Cyberpunk 2077 or Dying Light.

Haha, I remember a few years back i was playing Fortnite in game chat and someone on my team said "wtf is that noise... are you at a salon playing this?"

I have a PS5 but not Pro. Is that considered current?
My PC is a i7-13700k with a 4060 Ti. I dont think of it as old but tech moves fast so idk

I have a Series S that I use almost daily, and I really enjoy it.
Got it because a PS5 wasn't worth it to me, and in 2023 (when I got the Series S) my PC was still just three years old, so the Xbox was a better complement to my PC than spending more cash to upgrade it slightly.
I also generally prefer the feel and ecosystem a console brings. I do play alot of games on PC but almost all of them are PC exclusive games, like MMOs, so it's not like one replaces the other for me.

No current gen system ::sadkirby Lol, thinking about it, the most current consoles I have ever had in my house was ps2/gamecube/gba/psp when I was young and still lived with parents. I've played on modern consoles, but only rarely at a friend's house or something.

As for PC, Neofetch for my current "game" system

Zone of the Enders on ps2 is pretty much the limit for me ::sadkirby I am forever cursed to only play games from platforms from when I was young and still lived at home >_< Oh well, doesn't bother me, never really sought out current games, I think I still have plenty to play from ps2 era and before :loldog

I bought an i7 with 16 GB DDR4 with an onboard graphics card, so I sympathize. But I am not that much bothered about it. The only new games I miss playing are indies. AAA has been pretty disappointing recently.

As mentioned in another thread I have a Ryzen 5 5600x, 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 3600Mhz and an Nvidia RTX A2000 which is about a 3050 so I don't know if it counts as current gen?
I think it plays modern games.

I have a PC from 2020 but is low tier, Ryzen 3200g, 16gb ram, no discrete GPU.
I could barely bought it, so probably it will be the last one. Also a broken PS1, and a PS2.

Always played old games from other generations.
Long live emulators and retro games!
But there are still good newer games.

The important thing is to enjoy what we have when we can.

Also I don't mind having fun watching others
play, even if is not the same.
I had fun watching a friend from here while she plays some retro games on her youtube channel ::terriermon-happy

An Xbox Series X and a PS5

I don't see myself getting a Switch 2 until the new Zelda

Still waiting for a good time to build a PC, maybe after they solve the ram issue and Nvidia goes away or AMD comes up with a way to solve shader compilation
