Do you have a current gen console and/or PC? Why? Why not?

I don't. I don't see much bang for my buck at current prices and quality of the gaming libraries.

I was thinking of getting a PS5 mostly for all improvements on PS4 games, but settled for a PS4 Pro, because I was given 5 years warranty at roughly a third of the price of the regular PS5. Can't beat that!

Also don't have a 4K TV.

My PC is getting up there in age, I got it around early 2020 right before COVID lockdowns, my thought was to future proof for a time. Since I maintain it and clean it regularly, it works the same as the day I got it.

I don't see a reason to upgrade, new games are trash, and most demanding games are just that, superficial style with no substance. New indie games aren't demanding, unless they are UE slop I won't play anyway.

I have PC (dogwater spec tho), PS5, Jailbroken PS4, Jailbroken PS3 (well, it's not yet CFW but can easily be lol), and Matrix PS2.

Too bad my PS5 rarely get used since video games price so high with wage so low, and PS5 have less feature than PS4 making it worse console overall in my opinion (transfer savedata to USB drive specifically). That one feature is the saving grace for someone who refuse to pay PS+.

If I ever got the fortune, I'm thinking getting Steam Deck/Machine.

I'm strictly PC, and while I can't say I know what would be considered current gen equivalent, I know mine is very much not. But it's a trooper, almost 8 years now.

A PS5.

It's mostly played in my case for Monster Hunter Wilds and a few things that pop up on my PSN Plus Essentials. I think the only thing I still want to buy are collections of old games that I missed or want to run without the slight imperfections I get from unofficial emulation.

I have a PS5 but rarely use it, if i do it's sadly for Master Duel or Fishing Planet, on the handheld side I also have Steam Deck.

i'm on my main PC most of the time for gaming.

This console gen blows, sorry.

I have a Xbox ONE X. Love the thing, but I build myself a PC this year and now I barely touch it. My PC has a 9700X, a 9060 XT 16GB and 64GB RAM. It works perfectly fine for most new games, but I mainly play all the games from ~10 years ago that I never got to experience at the time and I can get now for like 6 bucks in a sale.

It's a Top-O-Matic T2.

I upgraded my PC with a 5060ti 16g a few months ago, a basic Switch 1 model and I have a steam deck. And lemme say, not to be one of those people who harks on about a steam deck but, it is probably the best gaming purchase I've ever made in over a decade. My library being untethered from my PC is making me try and finish all sorts of games I never thought I'd play. Reading visual novels is actually comforting now that I can actually curl up with a blanket and read it like a book. I can use it as an emulator that can run what i want perfectly. Yeah the hardware is a little dated and it doesn't have ray tracing and struggles with modern AAA releases and doesn't render things in turbo mega hd, but I don't care about that. The most AAA release I have is Yakuza 7 with the most intensive thing I run on my deck being Final Fantasy XIV to craft and gather.

I also don't see a whole lot of value for owning a current gen console right now anyway. None of them have any console exclusives that are worth the console cost to entry. And don't get me started on the monthly fee to even have the privilege of playing online. I feel like I'm a vulture waiting for, say, Death Stranding 2 or Demon's Souls remake to get a PC port then go on sale for a price I deem worthy of paying.

Here in my country, even the latest computers are very expensive; even the basic models are too expensive for a middle-class or lower-class Brazilian.

No the last console I bought was the switch for my 2 youngest kids

I got my PS5 as birthday gift back in 2023. I don't regret, and happy to play PS5 and PS4 games.

I got a Steam Deck. It's the ultimate Emulation machine for me, and I can play the current Gen games i want. It sounds like a hipster thing, but most current Gen big studio games I'm not interested in to begin with, and the steam deck is more than able to handle the Indie games I want to play. Dredge has been a real treat, just got it on the Winter Sale and it's a blast. Also Monsters Hunter Rise has been great. I wish Wilds had been better, but Rise has been a great experience.

My PC is not top of the line but it's decent and yet to see a game where it couldn't run at least on minimum, but I also really only use it to play the same old games. Other than that I don't think Switch 1 counts as current gen anymore lol.

Yeah the Steam Deck is an amazing piece of kit considering its size and flexibility. it's not super powerful, doesn't need to be, its a handheld, forgivable.

Sim, o Steam Deck é um equipamento incrível considerando seu tamanho e versatilidade. Não é superpotente, e nem precisa ser, afinal é um console portátil, então isso é perdoável.
Well, I wanted to buy that console, but it's too expensive in my country. And I'm still unemployed, so I don't know if I'll find a good job.

if you get your hands on it one day, its pretty amazing. you won't be disappointed (now im just repeating myself lol)

Se você conseguir colocar as mãos nisso um dia, é simplesmente incrível. Você não vai se decepcionar (agora estou me repetindo, rsrs).
I know I want to play my games and play various games that I like.

Bought a ps5 on launch and it's probably the first console I've regretted buying despite being console-less for about a year leading up to it's launch as my ps4 died. Looking back I should've just bought another ps4.

Built a cheapish mid-range pc (ryzen 5 5600x, 16gb ram) about two years ago and just upgraded to a 9070xt to run cyberpunk at 4k. Apart from that I've been messing around with SBC handhelds and got an AYN Thor recently which is amazing. Bought it primarily for nds/3ds and it's quickly become my ps2 and switch machine.

I feel ya' homie, dat PS5 hype, we were all suckered in ya hear?
I too regret the buy ya'll, but i suppose it don't sound like no diggidy dog jet plane.

Te entendo, mano, toda essa empolgação com o PS5... a gente caiu nessa, tá ligado?
Eu também me arrependo da compra, mas suponho que não pareça nada com um avião a jato.
It's not a plane or a jet, it's a cart with few good games.
