do you find yourself playing too many games you never beat any?

Wait, are you talking about absolute fear or is there like a full 3D remake?
yeah absolute fear but i remember someone trying to do a 3D remake
idk what happened to it tho.
also i remember there being an Ao Oni online game, by online i don't mean ao oni with online feature like gacha and stuff.
I meant online playing with other real people being stuck in the mansion being chased by an oni (also a player). you could say the game play is like DBD.

i have seen a vtuber play that! it was creepy ; w;
its pretty alright, lots of bugs but definitely better than ao oni 2, 3, and X

I fuck (beat) almost anything that i touch, only not in a completionist way. My list of games is expanding like the universe so i try to pick them carefully.

I have to admit i'am a bit of a masochist but i love it <3

It happened to me a lot during my "professional" reviewer days... I just couldn't throw myself into a game for more than an hour, maybe two because I had a backlog to clear (or else, no paycheck).

as the title asks, do you?

i tend to not really beat many games as i love trying so many new things

i have beaten games before, but i have played way more than i have beaten w

if you were to ask me if i have beaten a random game, i would proabably say no, but i have played it!

how about you?!
i'm often liable to do this. Unless I focus on a game from start to finish other ones grab my attention mid way.

This is something that always happens to me. But with franchises with a lot of entries. Dragon quest for example or in other cases I am playing mass effect 1 to transfer some things to Mass effect 2 but then I remember that I have to make 3 completionist playtroughs and I stop playing immediately.

It is, isn't it? it would be like taking small bites of several foods instead of preparing an actual meal and getting nourisment.

i always think i have adhd because of it but never got checked. do you think that could be the case?

Well I'm no medical expert so couldn't say, but think in part it is a side effect of our times, too: never have we had access to so much stimulli so quickly and so constantly and our brain gets confused trying to find that dopamine fix.

good point! we are def spoiled for choice nowadays...

i used to download full romsets for my emulators but realized i would just switch games constantly instead of picking one to play, so nowadays i just download the ones i know i want!

for steam tho...i have over 700 games now so its rough ' w'

in my case i juggle around 2 games
the 2nd game is just there to switch to so i wouldnt get bored of the first game since i play long hours often beating a game in just 3 to 4 days

Two is very reasonable. I'm just a little extreme: I'm either laser focused and burn through the game in tunnel vision or don't.

It happens to me all the time (specially rpgs). Playing and enjoying the game but never finish it. Either because it has later hard levels, too much grinding or I simply forgot where was I in the game when i pick it up again.
When I feel like I want to beat a game, I usually go for a shoot'em up.

If I get to the final boss that's good enough for me. Doubly so if I die to some BS trial & error hipcheck. Like, I could beat him if I wanted to, I just can't be arsed.

Sort of? I get interested by a lot of different games, be they:
  • Romhacks
  • "New Games" (the $60-80 kind which do not feel like safe bets so I often skip these for last)
  • Indies (random small Steam ish)
  • And the actual Backlog
But I keep a Google Sheet with friends where we track what we're playing. Yes, places like the backloggery exist and yes there are apps which do this with their own database of cover art and etc, but honestly I try to keep it organized with the fastest thing possible. A simple bullet pointed list.

That or making myself feel guilty by adding a post it with the name of the game every time I buy something. It does not work that well haha, I just put the post its away.

I beat a pretty substantial amount of games per year, but I still get interested in far more of them, so...

I recommend the following Tactic'

- Take a Time consuming Game, RPG, open World, whatever.
- Take shorter Games as Side Games

For Example the lately here presented Demon Stone is a great Game to play aside a Time consuming Game.
You will be through in 6-12 Hours and you can have some Action in overseeabel Sesions.

If you start Final Fantasy VI and than Dragon Quest VIII, you will not finish them
But if you start Final Fantasy VI and Demon Stone, you will have more Motivation to get through both.
The Side Game is to break through the Monotony that often comes along with large Games.

Another Recommendation is to Limit yourself somehow.
If you have less to chosse from, you will play more and spend less Time browing through your Library.

Sometimes it is also enough to take Games that are great to pick up and play, Turtles in Time, Parodius, Streets of Rage.

I managed to play through some Games with that Tactic.
