Do you eat any Christmasy foods?

Around this time in 2019 I tried the stollen, stroopwafles & ice gingerbread cookies.

I thought the stollen was ok, the stroopwafles were the best and the iced gingerbread cookies were also sort of good.

I would love to try Christmas food one day. Looks delicious. I ate ginger bread cookies and they’re decent.

As a child, I think in Christmas '85, my grandmother had made me a British Plum Pudding. I was enraptured by its such an atypical, spicy flavor, but even more so when she set it on fire with a match....

I don't exactly eat things that are super Christmas specific, but this thread reminded me of the one Christmas food I cannot stand.... EGGNOG. YUCK!!!!!

I don't eat anything Christmasy, since in my country Christmas is mainly celebrated by practicing Christians, but I do eat oranges and salads, which are considered a stereotypical New Year food.

On Christmas Day, I like to have porchetta, which is a traditional Italian rolled pork cut stuffed with herbs, spices, and peppers, typically served with roasted potatoes (which I enjoy with garlic butter). Since moving out, I usually make it myself and serve it to my family alongside whatever my mother makes (almost always veal cutlets and angel-hair sphagetti, both of which Gorse likes very much).

At this time of year, you can also get this stuff called Martini Rosso, which is an orange-flavoured vermouth that I guzzle down by the gallon, usually with orange juice or on its own over ice. My 'rents also order little glazed cream puffs from this ancient Italian woman who lives down the street, so Christmas Eve is usually spent stuffing those down. I love Christmas cuisine – it's got my favourite foods of the year.

I actually never used to like eggnog until a few years ago and it's pretty tasty.

Of course! In Italy we all go crazy for  pandoro and  panettone. I have already started enjoying them a few days ago; and I will never get enough of them. ?

Porchetta looks good. Never heard of the Martini Rosso, but I do remember this drink called Pepsi Cola Holiday Spice, (sadly it's been discontinued since the early 2000's, ?)

WHOA! Spiced Pepsi!? Thats nuts :O

Reminds me of that Hot Spiced Dr. Pepper recipe haha

Not really a food, but mulled wine.

I like to drink eggnog (the alcohol-free version).

I forgot about eggnog somehow. I enjoy it too, both with or without alcohol.
