Do you consider Zelda a link to the past a difficult game?

just curious about your opinions about this classic

i'm replaying it atm after a lot of time, i must admit i forgot many things;
do you consider it difficult?

After finishing the game multiple times? Not at all. But if someone is playing it for the first time it can be confusing in some areas, like the dungeon in Skull Woods.

No. I've played that game so many times since I was a kid that it's practically muscle memory. Even as a kid it was never as hard as the NES Zelda games.

Nope honestly I think all the zelda games are to easy way to easy.

There's a few spots that can be confusing to someone who's playing it for the first time but I wouldn't say that it's difficult. The game was intended to be beaten, unlike some other games from that era.

Honestly, i consider it to be pretty intuitive, and if you get lost, remember to consult with the old woman with the crystal ball in the town. The game was made with so much care that you rarely will get lost.

muscle memory lol, in fact i did a false step, starting the dark world without the moon pearl... :p

i think one passage in the rom i'm playing (translated in my native language, italian), leaded me out of track; second time i'm playing this, completed with the original english version now years ago

i see there is a 'strange' bit of gameplay where the rabbit can shoot?
it is a known thing or i have triggered something unexpected?

It's pretty easy. I'd say it's fairly easy compared to even most of the other 2d Zelda games. Minish Cap's probably easier but the nes games, the Oracle games and Links Awakening are probably all harder than A Link to the Past.

Not the level layours or puzzles, but I thought it was pretty grueling the first few times I played it because I found it hard to adjust to the movement with the little rinky dink first sword. Constantly ran into enemies and wasted a lot of hearts that way.
Also remember getting stuck once when I played it on Wii Virtual console after like the 2nd or 3rd Dark World dungeon and didn't know how to proceed, but unsure as to how I managed that ::sailor-embarrassed

No. Zelda II is harder.
There are harder versions of LTTP, and I would recommend them if you have practically mastered the base game. The one annoying thing about LTTP is the hitbox for Link's sword swing actually has a dead zone or is partially diagonal instead of being square, and it can be a pain in certain situations.

Not really. It's definitely on the easier side, especially compared to the Zelda NES duology

i think its mostly straightforward but im also someone who has done at least a 100 randomizers of it, then again if it was overly complex i dont think it would be as fun to randomize over and over

Not at all, it's a fairly average game in difficulty but I also don't consider it the best 2D Zelda either, that's Minish Cap for me, sue me :)
I'm not a big Zelda fan so my taste in Zelda games is rather unique.
I like the game well enough, I just don't feel it's something all that mind blowing, however it is a clean, highly polished, artistically well executed game for sure.

its a easy game and well balance fun to play
the nes games are harder

Navigation wise? No, the game is far easier, you are literally pointed where the dungeons are (Finding how to access them is still tricky, but far from the vagueness of the NES duology)

IS THE COMBAT WHERE YOU WILL END UP BALD
For starters, to (Over) compensate you having twice as health compared to Zelda 1, enemies hit harder, second enemies has lots of erratic patterns and it will take a while to get extra hearts of farm a steady supply of potions and lastly upgrades are far more spaced between, i never died past two digits in Zelda 1, but in this one? i remember getting 30 game overs

probably this, and what Bakuma1997 wrote above, spec in the dark world dungeons

i needed a bit of extra train on this, really too much time from the first completition

i did a short video about that curious Bunny Link shooting part

No. I'd say it's the easiest of the pre-OoT Zeldas.

Very much so, far harder than Link's Awakening DX (my favorite one).

But, then again, I tend to suck at those kinds of games.

Well, I say yes and no but I found the remake easier than the GBA version.

The dungeons are the only ones in any 2d Zelda to have kill rooms (rooms filled with many enemies and also have no key, treasure or need to complete). So, yes, while I can beat it without too much trouble it is a more difficult 2d zelda
