Exactly what it says on the tin!

I didn't have a lot of music growing up (maybe some compilation albums, Weird Al, and radio dramas), but when I got my Sony CFD-375 after my Tiger R2-D2 cassette player kicked the bucket, I knew I wanted to start a collection. Originally I started out just wanting classic rock albums, but then we'd get all this great unique stuff at the Goodwill that I work at that I couldn't not bring home

So yes, two cassette drawers full (94 cassettes) and a fairly sizable amount of CDs (168 in total) on a shelf rack

I used to. I had a cousin who worked at Aron's records in Hollywood and then later at Amoeba Music, and she was constantly hooking me up with weird import stuff and limited edition, and so on. I later sold most of that back to Amoeba, so I went from hundreds of CDs and albums to maybe 20 items total?
However, part of taking ownership of this house has meant I got the music that was all of my parents' stuff, so maybe 100ish records, 100 or so tapes, and I'm not sure how many CDs. I haven't gone through it all yet, but it's here when I'm ready.

It is a thing I'd like to get back into once I get other stuff sorted here, though I'll likely be more selective than I was in years past. This is probably the right place to ask: anyone have experience with discogs? It seems like you can find almost anything there, I just don't know anyone who's used it, so I have no idea how reliable it is.

I collect the albums I really enjoy to support the artist. Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum (Tally Hall), Burn Pygmalion: A Better Guide To Romance (The Scary Jokes), The Black Parade (MCR), Gorillaz (Gorillaz), and the whole soundtrack of BlazBlue Chronophantasma to name a few.
I like having the CDs. So if the wifi ever goes out for some reason, I get to still enjoy this stuff.

My dad does. though I do have digital albums if that counts. My dad had a lot back when me and my sister where kids. Mostly 70's and 80's band as well as a few country. The one the stuck out to me was the one by Pink Floyd that he had.
I think it's this one but from the early 2000s.::thinking
