Do you believe in UFOs/Aliens?

I don't believe we've ever seen any immediate signs of intelligent interplanetary life, but I think it's a little crazy to assume it doesn't exist somewhere out there.
I'm asking you why it's "crazy" to assume that there's no life somewhere else?

We used to consider those who firmly believed in aliens to be the "crazy" ones.

My biggest issue about alien believers isn't believing in other lifeforms but some creating sects and other kind of manipulation like those "apocalyptic announcers" and other kind of guru that are gaining from gullible people.

I won't delve too much into that aspect because it could be against the forum's rules but please take things with a grain of salt and don't get manipulated by pseudo-media.

I pretty much agree with the idea that we have almost certainly never been contacted by another intelligent life but they are out there. The size of the universe makes it unlikely that we're the only ones.

I believe that other life exists in the universe, but I don't believe that we've been contacted by them. I imagine to a species that has mastered FTL travel, we would be little more than an ant hill on the side of a road.

I've heard and read people telling how faith believing in God was ridiculous yet believed in extraterrestrial lifeforms. I'd be curious to know their logic behind that.

The size of the universe makes it unlikely that we're the only ones.
I'll be honest, is this a solid enough proof? It sounds like an assumption based on something we're not even entirely sure.

Is the Universe truly infinite? Will it infinitely expand? We don't have enough data to even be sure how many % of carbon there is nor other ingredients for a possibility we could see these.

I imagine to a species that has mastered FTL travel.
Also FTL is purely hypothetical because of thermodynamics.

Imo we're very lucky to haven't met any if they are out there. It would most likely take at least a Type 2 civilization to visit earth and we're not ready for all that smoke. We'd have fuck all to offer them and I don't believe friendship would be what they'd be after.

I appreciate the "Type" for civilisations but this seems arbitrary imo. We need more factors to determinate the advancement of a civilisation.

And another thing is that "Alien Invasion" types of movie were mostly USA film makers venting their fear of invasion from the USSR and the Soviet Block (like Godzilla being the incarnation of Nuclear weapons).

I'd be wondering if we're the one showing more intolerance towards an hypothetical intelligent lifeform and that we'd potentially be the ones invading and bullying others. Warhammer 40K is an interesting view on the thing (as well as the parallel dimension in Star Trek with the Terran Empire).

Yeah I definitly believe there are other lifeforms out there no way we're the only ones lol. However I doubt any have actually visted us yet but who knows lol

I would like to see the face of people if they discover extraterrestrial life-forms but they're merely unicellular.

Must be disappointing if we discover we are the only intelligent life-form in the universe.
Ehhh let the people who believe in it have fun there is no point in telling the entire site there is no aliens you aren't gonna change anyone mind , its a futile attempt , let them think whatever they want at the end of the day it be good if we set foot on mars.

For sure, there’s no way we’re the sole inhabitants of the solar system, I wanna fuck alien femboys.

That said, there’s also a lot of instances of the government using aliens as a cover-up for more serious things, so I doubt we’ve made contact with them yet lest someone snitched.

A secret so bold can’t be hidden this deeply.

I'm only presuming the worst based on my own personal biases. Assuming an Alien culture has the mean to get to earth, I could also safely assume they have resources in abundance, so they're not here to trade. You can assume they're here to break bread, but I believe there are more reasonable assumptions you could make about them visiting. Idk but it sounds more like science fiction to me to assume they're visting us to consider uplifting our civilization vs they're here to determine if we could be a threat to them someday. If they're here to break bread with us then what are they waiting for? I hope my way of thinking is wrong tho.

I don't believe we've ever seen any, but yeah. There's gotta be something out there.

Not in a conventional sense, but I'm not going to pull anyone down this particular rabbit hole.

I don't believe in anything, neither god nor aliens or any of that kind.

Just listen to Voivod's song God Phones.

God phones in this morning
He says he's an alien
God phones in this morning
He says they're all coming

Think about how huge the universe is. Us being the only intelligent life anywhere in it would be astronomical, we're probably not even a fraction of a percent of all the different species that could be considered smart. As a species humans "use to" believe a lot of things and most of those beliefs ended up being proven faulty or just plain wrong eventually, so the long-term belief that it was crazy to believe in aliens really isn't much of anything to consider, or even evidence towards aliens existing being more likely.

But it's different to believe alien life exists and to believe we've witnessed it. The crazy science behind the type of space travel and speed needed to cover the minimum distance between us and anywhere even capable of housing intelligent life is wild. Even if another species could travel that far it'd be like throwing a pebble into the grand canyon and hitting a fly with it; probably not happening.

Hm... I believe we aren't alone in the universe. It's way too big and massive, too many other planets and systems out there for us to be all that there is.

Not to mention that I refuse to believe we are "it"... could you imagine if humans are the peak of existence in the universe? That's a frightening thought!

I think very similarly to you, yes.
