do y'all write books?

Novels, for the heck of it. Short stories as well.

Too many to count.

I'll write stories on my head not on books on paper but I always tell a story vocal.

I will consider book as "novel"; in that case, I've written six. Five of them are horror novels, and one of them is a romance novel... about Miku and me...

Apart from that, I wrote several short horror stories. I don't think I'm a good writer, but I have fun when I write.

This winter was very rough, so I got back into writing and continued my... eh, in my mind its too long for a short story but too short for a novel right now. So yeah, I've been writing something on and off. Had to abandon it for now but will revisit later, because I have some new ideas.

Novella?

Tried to do so in my Online Highschool days, obviously not aiming for a pulitzer but something i did for fun between classes, it was deceptively hard to do, i dropped it three chapters out of my planned 20 into, i did wrote something similar, a miniseries based on my Discord Profile's character's Lore back when we tried to have actual "Lore" (Nowadays it is a simple hanging out virtual server)

I self-published a book of poetry; mostly stuff I wrote ten years ago and rediscovered. I don't relate to it the same way, but I really do like the person who wrote that stuff.

yeah, that makes me more interested in writing a book but i drafted a novel when i have an audacity though it makes me more concerned in rereading it and trying to edit a draft so it takes more time to resort my attempt to publish the book to the company so that i can get 10% cuts from it

I'm curious if anyone who wrote books when they are bored. But in my mind, I wrote 17 books in my life and I never gave up to write something lol
Ive written 18 poetry books so far and am working on my 19th it is rhyming poetry. Mostly from dreams.

Where did that person go?

I once wrote three pages for a project I was very interested in, but I never found the motivation to continue (and life caught up to me, somewhat).

The idea of writing does entice me, but I can't but my brain to work, for whatever reason.

Yes and no. I am always overcome with ideas, but have terrible follow through. I've tried to get better about it as I can usually only bother with two modest chapters before moving on

For me it is 17 novels. Words for these accumulated books is 1 million words because I started it since 1996

Started in 9th grade meself and i have over 1500 poems. It is good to know of another prolific writer. Keep up the good work! :) and enjoy what you do :)

Edit: i say anyone who writes and has a collection, should try self publish at least to preserve their work. Dont be embarrassed or hesitant, but be confident in ur own efforts and try share it.
