Angry reviewers were fun for a while but they've falled into exaggeration and honestly it got old. I'd still take those over essayists but that doesn't mean every were good.

I'll go with AVGN cause till today I've never heard of Angry Joe and the few minutes I watched him now (One of his old Videos) were a pain in the ass for me.
from AVGN on the other hand, I have seen all Episodes and watched the first 8 Seasons twice or more. His latest stuff isn't as fun anymore, but I still have hope for the next episodes

AVGN one hundred percent. I can't remember the last time I ever rewatched an Angry Joe video, but I still semi-regularly (probably once a year or so) watch a few of the classic AVGN episodes for old times sake.

Angry Joe, meanwhile, is an insufferable piece of shit (especially with his recent crash-outs on Twitter over people disliking both "Supergirl" and "The Odyssey"). Also, is it just me, or does his two lackeys who sit beside him look as if they're being held hostage?

I felt like that years ago with "Other Joe". He seemed like he could've carried his own channel about fitness or something like that and probably been successful in his own right.

I don't know who Angry Joe is but I did do something of a marathon of AVGN 5 years ago. He did some pretty great videos and sometimes still delivers some pretty funny ones. It's quite impressive how the channel has been going for 20 years

Angry Joe got tossed and sauté by Hideo Kojima's Boyfriend Geoff Kellogg [idk how to type his last name] and its the only encounter of me ever watching anying from Angry Joe.
AVGN is something i binge once every other year. His old content is so good, i wish Classic Game Room didnt delete there shit videos. Every so often cause that is also something I watched a ton back then.

I think that sadly for one AVGN you had at least 10 mediocre expy that understood nothing about what made him good.

The AVGN/James Rolfe also gave us good infos and context from the games rather than just being angry at those games.

While some could say that "at least they're being honest than being journalists paid to tell good about bad games" and it may be true for some but many reviews are cherry picking and amplifying the smallest flaws to make content from said reviews rather than making a genuine one...

Also some are borderline being reactionary regarding addition in the newer entries to the point they're being genuinely hateful towards people than towards the game itself.

CGR and undertow are my favs growing up. It was the latter and like 2 lets players which were Chuggaaconroy and his collab group The RunAway Guys. I miss undertow besides Mark screeching the same words over and over i did miss Undertows cool reviews for the most obscure games on the DsiWare and such.

Chuggaa's great. I still rewatch some of his older LPs to this day (Especially Pokemon Emerald and Majora's Mask). Although, I don't think I've ever watched a single RunawayGuys video.

AVGN and it's not even close. What even is this question lol. I doubt anybody likes Angry Joe more than AVGN.

@Rakoniomm brought up Scott and I think it's at least a closer comparison in terms of being good Youtubers, but Scott's a reviewer. I think JonTron would maybe make for a better comparison. He did the skits but also commented (irately) on the gameplay.

Come to think of it, I don't know if this is a product of the internet of the time, or just nostalgia goggles, but both AVGN and Jon have many more memorable moments than Scott.

AVGN, though I used to watch Joe more regularly, his most recent video on college football was funny.

But yeah overall AVGN, it has a more cozy vibe, it's a show you could marathon while eating a take out.
