Since most users of this site seem to be 20+ years old, the norm for most of us were probably that we were among the first in our families to play videogames as a hobby. It's not a rule though, or anything, and I think it's interesting to hear about parents or older relatives who share our interest.
My mom or dad didn't play videogames growing up, but they've tried a few since I've been around (they're only 23 and 26 years older than me so they were always pretty "with it"). My dad really liked playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run back in the day (mainly because he likes The Simpsons) and he got really into the tennis parts of the Wii Sports games. I'd like to get him to try Red Dead Redemption 2 or the Resident Evil 2 remake but he's stubborn and thinks he can't work a controller lol.
My mom always enjoyed looking and listening to pretty fantasy games like Oblivion and World of Warcraft, though I know that her favorite game is Unravel.
Though I give the credit of planting the gamer seed in me to my aunt. My first game was Megaman at her place when I was really really small. She loves Castlevania, Resident Evil and Zelda the most.
How about you?
