Dislike the new boring look of the internet?

You probably do, or so I hear. There have been threads/comments about the subject before. At some point, every website became white, populated by black text and punctuated by a few images. Think old Reddit vs [new?] new Reddit. Then came dark mode when they innovated from everything white to everything black!

A while back I found Neocities was hosting a number of more artistically daring websites, and perhaps you'll find something you like there.

I'll be honest and say my favourite is the Frutiger Aero Archive, just to download things.

Pense no Reddit antigo versus o [novo?] novo Reddit . Depois veio o modo escuro, quando eles inovaram, passando de tudo branco para tudo preto!

Há algum tempo, descobri que o Neocities hospedava vários sites com uma proposta artística mais ousada, e talvez você encontre algo do seu agrado por lá.

Para ser sincero, meu favorito é o Frutiger Aero Archive , só para baixar coisas.

All forums I've seen running on Xenforo look like this. Perhaps it isn't the most customisable template.

Not only today's internet is momre sanitized than it was, goverments across the globe trying to intervene into it, to have people under control. The early internet was cool, but also kinda less safe than it is. Also everybody had their own websites which had unique designs instead of plain minimalism

I hate everything about the current internet... When did we decide that complicated backgrounds, whimsical color schemes, GIFs and blinkies were obsolete? Flatness is only good on a PowerPoint presentation for your failing business, damn it!

I'm not a fan of how minimalist modern internet and social media are nowadays, and I miss more personalized profiles and websites. Heck, one of the things that got me hooked on RGT was the fact that I could have a crazy stylized profile, avatar, and signature just like the old days.

no, not really...
the new internet sucks for different reasons. it looking more polished is not one of them.

probably around the same time people started using dark mode
as the internet becomes more mainstream people spend more time on it, so they dont wanna hurt their eyes
it's only natural
