(USA versions only) patch by Souzooka
This patch removes the ugly blur effect and depth field effect, so that our eyes stop bleeding and we can enjoy this game.
there is also an optional patch to fix the selector arrow, as it does not render in HW mode.
(this patch can also be applied on top of the UNDUB version., for this use with DeltaPatcher disabling "checksum validation".)
thanks for the pictures to Flaming_Metal_Systems

Alternative Anti-Blur Workaround for Non-USA Versions
Open PCSX2 right click on your game>Properties>Graphics>Rendering>“Manual Hardware Renderer Fixes”>Hardware Fixes>Skip Draw Range to 1 and set autoflush to 1 Enabled (Sprites Only)

I remember playing this game ages ago, then eventually finding the sequel that had a completely different name for whatever reason, lol. It was back before all them HD TVs, so, the blur and such wasn't as much noticeable/eye killing as it is now on clearer displays. More games need patches like these, lol.

Does anyone know this anti-blur patch has an equivalent for use on original hardware?

This is cool. Now what the game needs is a original Japanese names restoration patch.
An English patch for the Japanese version would be great.

If you are referring to the European and Japanese versions I don't think so,
since this xdelta patch is only for the American version and it should run fine on PS2 and even on PS3 as confirmed by Flaming_Metal_Systems.

this xdelta patch is only for the American version

They must be using an "undub" or some other mod in the screenshot then. The character has brown hair, which is different from the USA release (where it was changed to blonde).

I'll look into it more when I have time. Thanks for the info.

Any idea on how to make this work on Nethersx/aethersx ?
assuming you have a PC you can patch the game there and then transfer it to your cell phone and run it on the emulator?
although I have no experience in that android emulator.

I was looking for the option hardware rendering , just got the undub and patched it and it works.
My retroachievments broke because of the checksum , guessing this is the trade off for removing the blur and being able to see what is selected.
Thanks for th reply!

Ok I took the time to check for myself
The workaround I posted is also present in Nethersx2.
Follow the instructions in the screenshots and check the options that I marked

Thanks I kinda feeling dumb now not figuring this out myself haha! you're an MVP !

Curious if this works on OG Hardware
It does. Text Depth Fix patch works, the one combined with anti blur does not. Tested on real hw with the US undub. Not sure what exactly it does though.

Edit. 'Raw Danger!/Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2: Itetsuita Kiokutachi - NTSC Mode + Anti-Blur Performance' works perfectly on real hw. So I don't see why this shouldn't also work.

Would it be possible to get a anti-blur only xdelta patch? There's not one available right now. I would like to test it on real hw.

I would like it too :(, but the author of these patches created them this way, if you want to contact the author these are his profiles

maybe he can provide an anti-blur patch.
