Digital PS3 Games Still Available?

I have seen some people online this year saying it’s still possible to buy digital games for the ps3. However, when you look in the PlayStation store online, it doesn’t mention the ps3 anywhere.

I bought the ps1 version of crash bandicoot digitally a few years ago, and I still play it on my ps3. I just wondered if it was possible to buy other games like it or has all of that been discontinued for the ps3 now? Thanks!

Thanks! I don’t know what it is, but for the longest time the PlayStation store hasn’t worked on my console. It goes to a black screen and shows it’s loading, but then nothing else.

Was your system updated to the last firmware update? I found that the PSN often required it otherwise it acted up.

Can you buy a gift card on psn on your Ps3 and load it on from there? Or do you have to get it somewhere else and load it on.

It’s been alleged Sony will shut down its legacy platform digital stores for a few years, but I honestly think we’re getting closer to that.

The recent discovery PS5 can, in fact, run/emulate PS3 games leads me to think they’ll start to offer them for purchase on that console as a means of running damage control.

Probably why Vita ROMs are also starting to flood the repository.

It's annoying that consoles have the ability to do so much and they could make them better by providing the updates necessary....but, they want people to buy the newest shiniest object. It's the same with phones. You don't need the newest phone. My old iPhone 5 would still work just fine if apple didn't decide to stop providing updates for them. I'm still using an iPhone 6 and it works fine as well. If only we could get the majority of the population to stop buying every new thing, and instead demand one product that will last. But that doesn't make money in the long run, of course. Soapbox ended lol.

DRM discussions apart, if you are in EU/UK Street Skaters Ps1 is 0.00, also check because some games might still gets discounts or even get for free if you have PSPlus (mostly SCE ones likes Oddworld, Entwined, Resogun, Garou... ).
Last tip: If you are REALLY planning on buying, check the PS3/Vita/PS4 cross-buy on a PS4 or on the App BEFORE, Helldivers-1 is one example, when bought on the app you get the download, also if some games seems delisted or the buy option is grayed, they might been bundled (check The Swapper game for example) but still get the PS3 download, be careful

No as far as i know, better forget it. Also, it seems that the support to copy PS3 downloaded Vita games to the console was also disabled after some system update some years ago, although you can still download the installation to the console (??). When you buy the game at PS3/PS App (again read the game legal throughly before clicking, i take no responsability) it will appear on the Download section of the Vita Store App (using the same account of course)...

I can give some more tips based on my own findings (EU region, i checked some months ago, so maybe there are changes):

- Basically the vita games you can play on ps3 are the cross-play/cross-buy games you will find on the store that hasnt been delisted, check some wiki for the list: Some i can confirm : Resogun, Helldivers, Alien Breed, Metal Slug3, Entwined, Spelunky,Dead Nation+Road to devastation, Counterspy, ... I think also these ones Oddworld new'n'tasty, The Swapper, Ape quest,deathmatch village,when vikings attack, Ecolibrium, Flower... Also, i can confirm that multiplayer PS3/Vita even with the same account works for most of what i tested...

- I think bought PSP games can also be downloaded directly on Vita, i prefer to check if the game is available by searching on the Vita Store: Manhunt 2, DOA Paradise, Thexder Neo (nice game BTW:) ),... A PSP game that ONLY appears at the PS3 store search is Sega Mega Drive Collection but downloads on Vita!. An I discovered that there was a previous PSP ZUMA game that might had been delisted...

- If im not mistaken, PSP DEMO "Loco Roco:Midnight carnival" is possible to acquire and download

- For PSOne games there is a real headache to search, i can confirm "Driver" for sure, and if the game is searchable on vita store will sure appear to download...

HOWEVER i have found some more EXCEPTIONS, if someone around might contribute to solve i will really appreciatte:
- Sega Mega Drive Collection and Darius Collection (PSP exclusives) only appears on PS3 search... Zuma and Cloudy with possibilities... seems delisted
- Megaman 10 and 11 were PS3 exclusives, but there is some cryptic message about "portable devices" that might led to mistake, it might be some typo, right? anyone?
- All PSP demos are available on the PS3 store but NONE will download on Vita directly, i found my way to download them on PSP and Chovy-sign to vita :)

Im sure you can connect other tutorials on the web with my findings, but feel free to ask if having doubts.

Thank you! Do you happen to know if Spyro is still available? They had the original ps1 games of Crash and Spyro, but I only bought Crash a few years ago.

You are not telling me the region where your console is registered, but you can try for yourself if the game is available:

For psone games you have choices: In my case, my PS3 reader is failing and hardly reads my PSOne discs collection, so i really appreciatte CFW uses to play my disks backups from hdd.
