Well, since the series definitely got revitalized I wanted to open a thread about the other most famous Tamagotchi's brother with the main anime serieses we loved back then and maybe keep up.
How many series have you managed to casually/fully watch or planning? This year with a friend (that basically got me into, while I did knew about it when it was aired) I binged in less than two months from Adventure 01 to Tamers. Watched the first 10 episodes of Frontier. Oh, and also watched .tri, the OVAs in-between, Last Kizuna + The Beginning.

Btw: I love Butterfly, but Biggest Dreamer still hits harder IMO.

I have mixed thoughts on .tri. I love the idea, but many stuff where really badly managed. I really hated how dirty they did the 02 cast (especially Ken Ichijouji). Last Kizuna and the other definitely did much better justice imo. Also:

no, the ending doesn't mean Agumon and Gabumon won't ever return to Taichi and Yamato. Especially since everything goes towards the Adventure 02 ending.

01 is still a classic that you just have to like. Last watched 8-9 years ago.

02 started strong but it was obvious they ran out of ideas in the middle. Still good. Also 8-9 years ago.

I recently rewatched Frontier and it was not even close to as good as I remember but it was still fun.

2020s pacing was all over the place! Omegamon in Episode 2? Getting Mega Level, defeating the final boss and THEN look for the crests for Endboss 2?! One episode a Mon digivolved because it wanted french fries or some stuff and the next episode Gabumon gets crucified?! All over the place I tell you, BUT I still liked it.

Ghost Game, Digimon x The X Files, was SOOO good imo but my lord (just like the X Files) they forgot the main plot existed. The monster of the week stuff fit so well but the main arc was absolutely nothing.

Haven´t watched Xros or App so I can´t say anything about it and I´ve seen Tamers and Data Squad last when I was a lil kid, I liked both of them though.

Ah yes, Digimon.

Back then i had a blast with the original (MetalGreymon and MagnaAngemon evolutions where epic, also the megas using 3D animations that at the time didnt sucked but now aged) and learned disappointment with 02 (seriously, the only good thing about this season was the Imperialdramon line, everything else feel like those VHS movies sequels),

Tamers perfect balance for childs/adults plot and the fact that the final enemy wasnt even something that could be killed for real like always

Frontier was.... something. The whole child turn into digimon was weird but cool. But i was one of the few that wonder how Fairymon got a pass. And then the "why they ruined it!?" when Frontier started the Royal Knights part (Lucemon was fine, but the Royal Knights episodes where.... uh)

Savers didnt got much love even when it was good (we got a main character that needed to punch a Digimon to even digivolve his, and even manage to give good ones to freaking MEGAS)

Xros Wars was also interesting, even more with the two seasons in one after they changed the main characters focus (and the cameo of all others seasons mains was awesome)

App Monsters.... is Digimon or just the same universe as Digimon?. And no, Agumon episode doesnt really count the whole thing as "Digimon"

Adventure (Tri.) was ok as long you ignore all the teenage angs and Meiko being only there for the sake of drama (was so hard to give her some moments of awesome like the others?)

Adventure (new) was a surprise, a full retold update of the original with more focus on the real world incidents like in Our War movie. And they managed to make Devimon look way more dangerous, just look at that new mega he got!

Ghost Game really did it when they said it will be more for old timers. Some of the cases where creepy and we did got to see what Digimons can do to humans body

Im yet to see Beatbreak to say something about it

Oh yeah I forgot about the punches, I LOVE THAT. It´s so stupid but really sets a statement for your MC when he decks Digimon´s taller than some buildings right up the schnoz

I love Digimon very much and it`s my favorite besides Pokemon.
My favorite are Digimon Adventure 01 and 02 since I like how we meet Digimon partners and I like how Ken It`s slowly changing thanks to Davis&others. I have not watched tri and only little bit of Digimon Adventurer 2020. Do you guys recommend watch tri and Digimon Adventurer 2020?
My favorite characther are TK and Kari.

I would definitely recommend to you to watch Tamers instead. Absolutely more worth it than those two.

I watched them all, even the x-evolution movie that was not mentioned, but voted only the ones that i liked, so Adventure 1, 2, tamers, savers, xros and ghost game.
i didn't like Adventure tri or 02 the beginning, but i really liked kizuna and i'm waiting for the next movie as well as all the episodes of beatbreak to come out so that i can watch them without waiting between one episode and another

I just hope they learned from Ghost Game and focus on the plot itself and not be all over the place

When you see the last part of GG one can tell they run out of time with how rushed it was with all the Digimons of the week that only few ended up being important later (damage control digimons! Lol)

i liked it as a series but yeah... definitely they rushed the ending too much, and they had the time to do it better than this... hope beatbreak will not do the same kind of mistake

definitely something that could never be forgotten when seen ahahah, the movie was a bad mix up, but it was great at the time not knowing that it was a mix up, but i have to say that i always stopped before the third movie started to rewatch the war game part, so it showed a lot that it was a mix up even as a kid ahahah

Damn it, I was going to edit the poll about it but I'm afraid the time already expired for fixing it.
Honestly I'm fine if .tri isn't added. It's not that people cared for that as much as the other series. I don't think it's a huge mistake, we can always check our comments to see how many of us watched it.

it's fine, i don't even like it as a series so i wouldn't have voted it anyway ahahah, and as you say, people can always say if they watched it, i voted only the ones i liked because the question had a "(and liked/loved)" but i can always vote them all if it was intended to count which series i watched in general, just let me know in case

The stuff that i remember from Tri.:

1) Teenage angs, everywhere

2) Meiko being shy

3) Everyone got Megas

4) Alphamon for how important is in the lore of the Royal Knights, got reduced to be a silent servant

5) The "original" Digidestineds (but with how Digimon keeps adding stuff related to this, i call them the Holy Beast origins.... and more angs around the fact that one missed the evolution)

6) The full of emotion and pointless in the end infection/reset thing

7) Dark Gennai being creepy and doing bad touchs

8) Machinedramon attack got interrupted by.... a digimon that wasnt even a champion

9) Sora can get hit with Machinedramon arm in hard ice and she can still go on (but with point 8, this Machinedramon is weak as hell)

10) Hikari finally got a taste of how friendship and all that stuff not always works (and Ophanimon falldown mode that did.... nothing.... just fuse cuz why not?)

11) The animation team liked to show a lot of Ordinemon ass

12) Omnimon got yet another form!?. Where is mah new Imperialdramon evolution!?

I know that i missed some other points, but those where the ones that come to my mind for now
